Welcome to week one of our 2020-2021 Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase.
Each week various members of our Art With Heart Colour Creations team will be bringing you weekly colour inspiration as we showcase our range of over 50 beautiful Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.
Week 1 – Balmy Blue
Balmy Blue is a soft, powdery light blue that is part of the Subtles collection of colours. It is available as a Classic Stampin’ Pad and ink refill, Stampin blends combo pack, watercolour pencil, Stampin’ Write marker, Subtle Designer Series Paper and Whale of a time DSP, or you can purchase it within any of the Subtles collections.
Balmy Blue looks so fresh when paired with both of the darker blues – Pacific Point and Night of Navy – but today I’ve chosen Night of Navy because I wanted colours that are available in our Stampin Blends.
I used Tuxedo Black ink to stamp my flowers onto Whisper White cardstock because I coloured my stamped images with Stampin Blends. If I was going to watercolour with inkpads or watercolour pencils and an aqua brush I would have stamped using Stazon Ink instead and either watercolour paper or shimmery white paper.
The large floral images in the Bloom & Grow stamp set and its matching Budding Bloom dies make card making fast and easy because each stamp and dies creates one large spray of flowers already beautifully arranged!
For my card I’ve stamped and die cut the same flower spray twice. The large sentiment was die cut and layered using the long scalloped edge die.
Here’s a closer look at this gorgeous scalloped edge – it adds so much visual interest.
I’m really looking forward to using Balmy Blue with lots of different colour combinations and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Art With Heart team have come up with today.
