Parakeet Party Planted Paradise Card

Parakeet Party Planted Paradise Card

Welcome to week thirty-eight of our Art With Heart 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop!

Our colour this week is Parakeet Party, an 2023–2025 In Color. This vibrant green sits somewhere between Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist and really adds a pop when placed against neutrals, such as this Pebbled Path DSP from the FREE (with an order over $90) Sale-a-bration Softly Stippled DSP.

Parakeet Party also looks great with other greens, so I’ve paired it with Old Olive, Garden Green and Pebbled Path for my “birthday wishes” card.

The Planted Paradise card is a reversible stamp set that all demonstrators received for free at the last OnStage conference. This stamp set is especially great for masculine cards!

To create the plant stand for the Pebbled Path pot I’ve used the easel die from the Crafting With You dies. Line up the die at the edge of the cardstock as shown in the photo below.

This type of stamp set is so much fun to play with and create different arrangements of plant leaves in different colours and shapes. I’ve die cut the Softly Stippled DSP using the second largest Deckled Rectangle die.

The “birthday wishes” sentiment is from the Sending stamp set, white heat embossed onto a strip of Parakeet Party.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Andrea Sargent – I can’t wait to see what Andrea has made this week!

Evening Evergreen Fern Embossing Folder Card – Week 19 AWH Colour Creations

Evening Evergreen Fern Embossing Folder Card – Week 19 AWH Colour Creations

Welcome to week nineteen of our Art With Heart 2022-23 Colour Creations blog hop!

This is a weekly blog hop where we showcase the stunning range of Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order over 12 months and this week we are featuring Evening Evergreen, a very dark and dramatic 2021-2023 In Colour.

Because Evening Evergreen is the darkest of Stampin’ Up! greens I thought I would try pairing it with the brightest of Stampin’ Up! greens – Parakeet Party – and I’ve decided I really love this colour combination!

The embossed layer couldn’t be simpler. After embossing Basic White card stock with the Fern 3D Embossing folder use blending brushes to add Evening Evergreen and Parakeet Party ink to the ferns.

I trimmed the embossed layer to 9.5 x 13.8cm, adhered it to a Parakeet Party 10 x 14.3cm cardstock layer and then adhered both of these layers to a a 10.5 x 14.8 cm Evening Evergreen layer – half a A4 sheet of cardstock.

The “Sending” layered die is from the Sending Dies. The secret to success with using a layering word die like this is to add an adhesive sheet behind the cardstock BEFORE you die cut the word out. It turns your die into a sticker that you can easily reposition to get it perfectly aligned.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Tina Gillespie – I can’t wait to see what Tina has made this week!

Parakeet Party Paradise Palms card – Week 2 AWH Colour Creations

Parakeet Party Paradise Palms card – Week 2 AWH Colour Creations

Welcome to week two of our Art with Heart 2022-23 Colour Creations blog hop! We are showcasing each of the 5 new In Colours for the first 5 weeks before we feature our core colours in alphabetical order.

Our second new In Colour is Parakeet Party, a vibrant lime green that is almost fluorescent. This colour screams happy and demands to be noticed!

Here’s what Parakeet Party looks like in comparison to the other current Stampin’ Up! greens – we have so many gorgeous greens to choose from I had to shrink this image down to fit it on the page!

My card today is very quick and easy to make and shows just how gorgeous Parakeet Party looks with blue/green colours. The background is created using three different blending brushes and these three colours: Pool Party at the top, Parakeet Party in the middle and Bermuda Bay at the base.

The palm trees and grass die cut in Basic Black cardstock using the Paradise Palm dies really pop against this vibrant background.

The sentiment is from the Paradise Palm stamp set, heat embossed in white and die cut using a Potted Succulent die. I really enjoy making gender neutral designs because they are so versatile.

This scene takes me back to very happy time, sitting on a Hawaiian Beach and watching the sunset with my boys.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Kathryn Ruddick – I can’t wait to see what Kathryn has made this week!
