Early Espresso Christmas Pines Card – Week 18 AWH Colour Creations

Early Espresso Christmas Pines Card – Week 18 AWH Colour Creations

Welcome to week eighteen of our Art With Heart 2022-23 Colour Creations blog hop!

This is a weekly blog hop where we showcase the stunning range of Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order over 12 months and this week we are featuring Early Espresso, the darkest of our neutrals family.

Early Espresso is such a dark colour I normally only use a little of it to make trees, wood and branches, however, for this card I decided to totally embrace this deep rich brown colour, using it with the darkest of the Brushed Metallic Cardstock to create a plethora of pine cones for my monochromatic card.

I seem to be permanently on a default button that is set to using Basic White and I always forget to use Very Vanilla, but not this week!

This card was super quick to make because the Early Espresso layer and the Brushed Metallic Cardstock layer are each cut using these two enormous dies in the Christmas Pinecones dies.

The Early Espresso faux suede trim is threaded through a Seasonal Label Dies stamped with the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from Christmas to Remember Stamp Set and embellished with a Natural Woven Ribbon bow.

Although it doesn’t say it on the Stampin’ Up! website, this ribbon is actually Very Vanilla.

With all the foil and the dark colours this was a super hard card to photograph, however, if you look closely you can see the Very Vanilla Classic Matte Dots that finish my Early Espresso card off.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Michele Taylor – I can’t wait to see what Michele has made this week!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Cards – AWH Heart of Christmas

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Cards – AWH Heart of Christmas

Welcome to week six of the Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop!

Ten more products have just been added to Sale-a-bration, so I’ve paired two of these new Sale-a-bration items – the gold foil from the Brushed Metallic cardstock pack and silver foil from the Silver Foil Specialty pack – with the existing Sale-a-bration Gold and Silver DSP for my two modern Christmas cards.

NOTE: If you would like to redeem your Sale-a-bration credits for these new items, make sure you use the codes below, instead of the original product codes they have in the catalogue they appear in.

My “non-traditional” Christmas cards were inspired by a video where Stampin’ Up used the Rays of Light Stamp set to stamp on the Silver & Gold DSP.

TOP TIP – use your Stamparatus to stamp large background stamps like this one.

This sparkly Silver & Gold DSP works really well with the gorgeous sentiment stamp I’ve used from the “Very Best Occasions” stamp set. I love this sentiment – bring on the sparkle and banish the stress of Christmas, I say!

I’ve used two of the new 2022-24 In Colours for my cards today – Parakeet Party paired with silver foil and Sweet Sorbet paired with gold foil.

I used a paper trimmer to cut out the gold embossed sentiment, adding red rhinestones as holly berries to the sentiment.

The gold frame is created using the largest and third largest stitched rectangle dies, with the stamped DSP die cut out with the second largest stitched rectangle die.

While I layered the gold frame behind the DSP for the Sweet Sorbet card, I decided to place the silver frame over the top of the stamped DSP for the Parakeet Party card.

The sentiment for the Parakeet Party card was die cut using layering circle dies and Rhinestone Basic Jewels embellish the sentiment.

I know which card I like the best, but I’m curious to find out which variation you prefer? Do you think this design is too modern and graphic for Christmas cards?

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Rachel Woollard – I can’t wait to see what Rachel has made this week!

If at any time you find a broken link, you can find the complete list of all participants on Sharon‘s blog. Sharon Davern is the host of our Heart of Christmas blog hop this year – thank you so much Sharon!!

Stampin’ Up! AWH Heart of Christmas Week 17

Stampin’ Up! AWH Heart of Christmas Week 17

Hello crafters! Welcome to Week 17 of our AWH Heart of Christmas blog hop.

This week I decided to CASE the Stampin’ up! July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue. If you don’t know what CASE stands for, it means to Copy And Share Everything. The Stampin’ Up! catalogues are a great source of inspiration for design ideas, which is why I always hold onto old copies of the Stampin’ Up! catalogues.

The card I cased is on page 57 of the July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue and I loved this card so much I bought the Heartfelt Wishes stamp used on this card.

Although I kept the colours and the layout pretty much the same as the original, I also added in an an embossed layer using one of the wintry embossing folders. Such a simple step, but doesn’t it give a wonderful dimension to the card?

Once again I’ve used the incredibly versatile Seasonal Swirl dies and matching Sparkle of the Season stamp set for the foliage the holly leaves and the pine cones. The holly berries are Red Rhinestones.

The lovely spotted Mossy Meadow strip of DSP is from Heartwarming Hugs DSP – I’ve made a co-ordinating envelope with this DSP too.

The inside of the card uses the “from our family to yours” stamp that I also used on the front of the card, more holly and strips of the Heartwarming Hugs DSP.

This strip of Gold Brushed Metallic 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Cardstock really adds so much interest to the card – this close up shows you just how sparkly it is!

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Claire Daly. I can’t wait to see what Claire shares with us today!

If at any time you find a broken link please head to the blog of this week’s host of The Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop, Sharon Davern, and she will have the list of all those participating.

Thanks for visiting my site. I’ll be back with another card on Wednesday.

In the meantime, wherever you are in the world, stay safe, stay calm … and keep on crafting xxx
