CASEing the Catty #371 – Autumn Beauty of Friendship card

CASEing the Catty #371 – Autumn Beauty of Friendship card

Today I’m joining in the #CTC371 challenge, which is to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) the colours of the He’s the Man DSP – Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Sahara Sand and Soft Succulent from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue.

These are the colours from the He’s the Man DSP – I used four of these colours on my card today.

These colours remind me of autumn, so I decided to use the acrylic block stamping technique to create an autumn scene.

You can use Basic White cardstock for this technique, but I wanted the texture that watercolour paper gives to the image. I inked up an acrylic block (I used size E) by tapping my Crushed Curry stamp pad directly onto it, spritzed it with water using a Stampin’ Spritzer and then I stamped the acrylic block directly onto the watercolour paper.

The tree stamp from the Beauty in Friendship stamp set is stamped in Early Espresso ink, with the leaf stamp in Cajun Craze, and then I roughed up the edges of the watercolour paper using my paper snips.

Since I had my sewing machine out, I decided to sew the watercolour paper to a mat of Basic Black cardstock. I love sewing on paper, it gives a really cool texture to cards.

The “Thank You” sentiment is also from the Beauty of Friendship set, heat embossed in white onto Basic Black cardstock.

CASEing the Catty #353 with Driving By, Sunshine & Rainbows, Rainbow of Happiness and the Cloud Punch

CASEing the Catty #353 with Driving By, Sunshine & Rainbows, Rainbow of Happiness and the Cloud Punch

Today I’m joining in the #CTC353 challenge, which is to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) the 2022 Sale-a-bration Catalogue. I decided to CASE this card on page 2 of the 2022 Sale-a-bration Catalogue.

Although I CASED the slimline format, the rainbows and the Pool Party/Basic Black/Basic White colour combination, my card ended up looking very different to the card I CASED!

When my order arrived this week I realised that this FREE Sunshine and Rainbows SALE-a-bration DSP has a DSP design that co-ordinates with the new Cloud punch – how cool is that!

I wanted to use as many of these gorgeous clouds as possible on my card so I didn’t waste the partial clouds on the edges of the DSP. I punched these clouds out too and used them on the sides and the top of my card. I also used my Gray Granite Stampin’ Blend! to colour in some of the clouds.

As well as the FREE Sunshine and Rainbows SALE-a-bration DSP I used another SALE-a-bration product on this card – the adorable “Driving By” Stamp set.

This FREE stamp set is the perfect set to try two awesome stampin’ techniques: reverse stamping and paper piecing. I’ve paper pieced the combi van on the left using a different Pool Party DSP from the Sunshine and Rainbows DSP and then I used my silicone mat to the reverse the combi image so I could have the other combi travelling in the other direction on the other side of the road.

The road is a 1″ strip of Basic Black cardstock – the road lines are hand drawn using the Chalk Marker.

The Sunshine and Rainbows DSP coordinates with the Rainbow of Happiness bundle.

I’ve used the “Rainbow of Happiness” stamp set from this bundle to stamp my rainbow in non-traditional colours to match the DSP clouds and the road: Basic Black, Pool Party and Gray Granite.

I used some more of the partial clouds to decorate the inside of the card and couldn’t resist adding another little combi van, this time stamped directly onto my card.

CASEing the Catty #351 with Happy Hedgehogs Bundle

CASEing the Catty #351 with Happy Hedgehogs Bundle

It’s been a very long time since I joined the CASEing the Catty challenge so I’m excited to play along again this week. The #CTC351 challenge is to case the 2022 Sale-a-bration Catalogue.

I decided to CASE this card on page 7 of the 2022 Sale-a-bration Catalogue.

I’ve used two new products from the January – June Mini Catalogue for my CASE: the Happy Hedgehogs punch bundle and the Hive Embossing folder. I’ve also used a FREE SALE-a-bration product, the Special Moment stamp set.

I kept the layout and design very similar to the card I’m CASEing in the catalogue, basically changing the colours and the stamp set used.

The “Thanks for brightening up my day” sentiment from the Special Moments stamp set is the perfect sentiment for my bright and shiny gold hedgehog. He certainly brightens up what is otherwise a deliberately monochromatic card!

I used Black Stazon ink to stamp the hedgehog onto the gold foil and then punched the hedgehog out using the hedgehog builder punch.

The sentiment was stamped twice, once in Memento Black and one in Versamark ink that I then gold embossed to match the hedgehog. I fussy cut both sentiments using paper snips and adhered to the card with dimensionals.

I didn’t forget the inside of the card either, using one of the sentiments from the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set. I think it works really well with the sentiment on the front of the card.

CASEing the Catty #285 with Boho Indigo DSP

CASEing the Catty #285 with Boho Indigo DSP

This week’s CASEing the Catty #CTC285 challenge is to case the sketch on page 29 of the August – December 2020 Mini Catalogue.

And this is the sketch we were given to CASE.

This is such a great layout to showcase designer series paper so for my CASE project I’ve used one of my all time favourite papers: the beautiful Night of Navy and Whisper White DSP from the Boho Indigo Product Medley.

Instead of just four strips (as shown in the sketch) I decided to use five strips, each trimmed to 1 inch wide so they would fit into the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. I hope the CASEing the Catty team don’t mind, but I always prefer odd number on cards and there are just so many beautiful designs in the DSP.

After trimming and punching the ends of the strips of DSP I sponged the edges of the DSP strips with some Night of Navy ink. The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy and Sahara Sand (to match the card stock base) and die cut using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. A bow of linen thread finishes the card.

Did you notice the beautiful gold foiled envelope sitting under my card? It’s from the special release “Box of Sunshine” Paper Pumpkin kit, available now while stocks last. I cut my Sahara Sand card base to fit this envelope because I loved it so much!

CASEing the Catty – Inlay Technique using Love of Leaves bundle

CASEing the Catty – Inlay Technique using Love of Leaves bundle

This week’s CASEing the Catty #CTC382 challenge is to case your favourite bundle from the 2020 August – December Mini Catalogue.

I have so many favourites in this catalogue but in the end I decided to use a bundle I hadn’t played with yet: the Love of Leaves bundle.

This is the card design I decided to CASE – it’s on page 74 of the 2020 August – December Mini Catalogue.

My card is the same basic layout but I’ve used the die inlay technique to insert the die cut shapes into the card front instead of layering them on top.

I cut my leaves out of the beautiful brushed metallic cardstock instead of the coloured and stamped leavers in the sample I CASED.

This angle better shows the soft sheen of this card stock.

I’ve used all three colours of brushed metallic cardstock: bronze, copper and gold.

The sentiments and fonts in the Love of Leaves stamp set are incredible. I’ve white heat embossed the little Thank You for my card today.

CASEing the Catty – Shaded Spruce and Silver Christmas Card

CASEing the Catty – Shaded Spruce and Silver Christmas Card

I’ve been following the beautiful creations of the CASEing the Catty team for a while and I decided to finally join in this week for the CTC380 challenge, which is CASEing the cover of the August – December 2020 Mini Catalogue.

There are so many beautiful cards on this cover but in the end I decided to CASE the “Seasons Greetings” card which is on the top left of the cover. I just love that little deer standing proud in amongst the trees.

I don’t have the “In the Pines” bundle yet so I used the Winter Woods and the Rooted in Nature stamp sets (with their matching dies) and the snow globe dies instead.

Slimline cards are all the rage ATM which is why I made my scene horizontal rather than the original vertical. I also switched out the gold for silver, which I personally prefer with Shaded Spruce.

These gorgeous new ribbons are both from the the August – December 2020 Mini Catalogue. The Shaded Spruce Argyle Satin ribbon comes in the “Wonder of the Season” Ribbon Combo pack and I’ve layered it on top of the Silver Metallic Mesh Ribbon.

My deer is die cut from silver foil using the Snow Globe Scenes dies.

And the “Season’s Greetings” sentiment is from the coordinating Still Scenes stamp set.
