The challenge for Day 12 of the 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge is “Bauble Bliss”.
Although I have a current bauble bundle, I really love the retro feel of this little die cut ornament from the Festive Tags Kit so I decided to make it the focal point of my Christmas card. This kit is a great kit to use as it is for Christmas tags or to turn into cards.
My black and white striped DSP layer is from the Halloween Spells Designer Series Paper and I’ve added one of the Lost Lagoon and gold foil tags from the Festive Tags Kit.
The “O” for the word joy is the cute little bauble from the Festive Tags Kit with Alphabest die cut gold foil from the online exclusive Brushed Silver & Gold Foil Specialty Paper creating the J and the Y.
The gold embellishments decorating the bauble are also included in the Festive Tags Kit.
The double bow on the top of the ornament uses the black and white twine included in the Festive Tags Kit as well as the new online exclusive Gold Twisted Thread.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another “30 Days of Christmas” Christmas card and the AWH Colour Creations blog hop where we will be showcasing Gray Granite.
Today’s card was created for both the AWH Heart of Christmas blog hop and the 30 Days of Christmas Card Making Challenge Day 11, “Frosty’s Wonderland”.
I’ve used the Snowy Wonder bundle to CASE a card I made a few weeks ago that also used the Perennial Postage Dies to create this style of layout.
Most of the products on this card are from the Snowy Scenes Suite Collection, including these adorable White Loose Snowflakes.
The snowflake on the top left panel is die cut from the Snowy Scenes DSP, die cut using the Snowy Wonder dies.
I love all of the little dies in the Snowy Wonder dies!
Now it’s time to hop in over to our next participant, the lovely Andrea Sargent. I can’t wait to see the project Andrea has created this week!
If the next button link is not working or you’d like to see the entire list of participants go to Sharon Davern‘s blog. Sharon does an amazing job of hosting our Heart of Christmas blog every Monday.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another “30 Days of Christmas” Christmas card, on Wednesday night with the Art with Heart Colour Creations team showcasing Grey Granite and with some more Heart of Christmas inspiration next Monday night.
Day 10 of the 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge is a sketch challenge and this is the sketch that inspired my card.
The focal image in the sketch is an oval which reminded me of this large lantern image from on of the designs in the sentimental Christmas DSP.
I’ve used this lantern as the focal image, fussy cutting a few of the pine branches from the same sheet of DSP to add some texture.
The double bow used two new ribbons from the online exclusives: the Gold Twisted Thread and the Lost Lagoon Soft Cording.
Although the sketch layout has two strips to the right of the focal image, the gold foil embossed “Merry Christmas” sentiment (from the Humble Home stamp set) looked so much better sitting on the lantern so my final card ended up deviating from the original sketch.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another “30 Days of Christmas” Christmas card and the AWH Heart of Christmas blog hop.
Day 9 of the 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge is a colour challenge where we make a card featuring the following colours: cinnamon, charcoal grey and birch white.
My colour combination uses the following Stampin’ Up colours: Copper Clay, Pebbled Path, Basic Beige, Very Vanilla and gold foil.
I’ve used DSP patterns from the Nature’s Sweetness Specialty Designer Series Paper, die cut using dies the Decorative Trees Dies.
The middle tree uses the die inlay technique, with a Copper Clay cardstock tree inlayed with a gold foil spine.
I’ve admired the new Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder on so many cards so I popped it into my latest order and I’m so glad I did.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another “30 Days of Christmas” Christmas card.
Day 8 of the 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge is all about the sweet holiday spirit with candy canes and peppermint-inspired touches!
My colour combination is Shaded Spruce, Pool Party, Real Red and Basic White. I love Shaded Spruce and Pool Party together!
The candy canes are from the Joyful Images Mix & Match Ephemera Pack and I’ve popped them in a mug made using the Latte Love dies to die cut Pool Party Card stock.
I’ve stamped snowflakes from the Snowy Wonder stamp set in Shaded Spruce onto Shaded Spruce cardstock and added white splatters too. The snowflake die on the mug was die cut using the Snowy Wonder dies.
The white heat embossed sentiment is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set.
The holly leaves and berries are from the Reindeer Fun bundle.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another “30 Days of Christmas” Christmas card.
Today’s day 7 of the 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge and today’s challenge is all about wreaths.
There were so many gorgeous wreath products I could have used, however I just couldn’t resist pairing the unexpected combination of the holly dies from the Reindeer Fun dies and the Season of Elegance 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty Designer Series Paper.
This close up image shows the beautiful gold leafing on the DSP.
Other material used are the “Peace & JOY” sentiment from the Peaceful Season stamp set (heat embossed in gold and die cut using the Spotlight on Nature dies), the Distressed Brick embossing folder, the Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/4″ (6.4 mm) Satin Ribbon, gold ribbon from the Gold & Silver 3/16″ (4.8 mm) Trim Combo Pack and Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed Berries.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another “30 Days of Christmas” Christmas card.
We’re up to day 5 of the 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge and today’s challenge is a sketch challenge.
The wonderful thing about a sketch design is that you can use whatever products you have at hand as long as you follow the general sketch layout.
I’ve used the Regal Distressed Patterns Specialty DSP, Season of Elegance DSP and products from the Nests of Winter Suite, including the Nests of Winter DSP and the Winterly Tree Top dies.
The focal image was super easy to make as the birds are from the Nests of Winter DSP, die cut using the Winterly Tree Top dies, so there’s no stamping involved!
The gold fronds are die cut from the Season of Elegance DSP and the brand new online exclusive, the Brushed Silver & Gold Foil Specialty Paper. I also added a thin strip of the new Gold Foil Specialty Paper to highlight the angled line between the DSP on the back of the card.
This photo below shows the gorgeous shine.
The “Merry Christmas” sentiment is from the Humble home stamp set, die cut out with a Stylish Shapes die.
The inside of the card has also been decorated using another image die cut from the Nests of Winter DSP and a left over scrap of DSP.
I’ll be back tomorrow with the AWH Coklour creations blog hop showcasing Granny Apple Green and it will also be another “30 Days of Christmas” Christmas card.
Today’s card was created for both the AWH Heart of Christmas blog hop and the 30 Days of Christmas Card Making Challenge Day Four, a colour challenge that includes using a bright blue, a bright yellow and a bright red.
I’ve used the following Stampin’ Up! colours for todays’ challenge: Real Red, Azure Afternoon and Daffodil Delight.
These are not colours I would usually use together on a Christmas card so it was a bit of a challenge coming up with a design for this colour challenge. Luckily, the Hang an Ornament bundle works with any colours.
The silver bows are from the Wanted to Say Dies and the embellishments are Rhinestone Basic Jewels. All three ornaments are white heat embossed.
The blue and yellow DSP are both from the Brights 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. The Real Red DSP is from the Take a Bow DSP.
Now it’s time to hop in over to our next participant, the lovely Kate Morgan. I can’t wait to see the project Kate has created this week!
If the next button link is not working or you’d like to see the entire list of participants go to Sharon Davern‘s blog. Sharon does an amazing job of hosting our Heart of Christmas blog every Monday.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another “30 Days of Christmas” Christmas card, on Wednesday night with the Art with Heart Colour Creations team showcasing Granny Apple Green and with some more Heart of Christmas inspiration next Monday night.
Today’s challenge is “Sleigh Ride” and the brief is to create a festive card that brings the magic of a winter sleigh ride to life.
I don’t have any sleigh stamp sets so I created a sled instead using the online exclusive Sophisticated Sled Bundle.
I went for a soft silver and pink colour colour scheme.
I’ve created pink laces for the ice skating boots using my light Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blend to colour white bakers twine.
The Falling Snow Stamp was stamped in Versamark ink onto Crumb Cake card stock before being silver heat embossed. Decked Rectangle dies cut out the Crumb Cake layer and the silver heat embossed sentiment.
I’ll be back tomorrow with the AWH Heart of Christmas blog hop with a Christmas card that is also another “30 Days of Christmas” Christmas card. I hope you can join me then.
Today’s challenge is “Gingerbread Dream” and the brief is to create a festive card that evokes the sweet, cozy charm of gingerbread.
I have to confess if had to name my favourite Christmas food it would be gingerbread. Literally, any type of gingerbread–German lebkuchen, Dutch speculaas, Swedish pepparkakor, gingerbread men, iced gingerbread biscuits and fully decorated gingerbread houses. I even love plain old Arnotts Ginger Nut Biscuits!
So I couldn’t I just make a card with only one gingerbread item, could I?
I’ve created the biscuit box using the two tackle box dies from the Gone Fishing dies. Die cut Pecan Pie card stock was attached the tackle box base using foam adhesive strips.
A Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blend coloured the inside and the outside edge of the white foam adhesive strips to match the cardstock and create the illusion of a biscuit box
I used the top tackle box die to die cut the tartan DSP to perfectly fit and line the box and then created an assortment of gingerbread using fussy cut images from the A Little Bit Festive DSP.
I also created an extra jam filled gingerbread biscuit made using the Perennial Postage Dies and the star from the Snowy Wonder dies die cutting the jam centre from glimmer paper.
The Garden Green foliage was die cut using Citrus dies and the “Celebrate” sentiment is from the Well Wishes dies.
Many of the elements in the card have had shading added using a sponge dauber.
I’ll hopefully be back tomorrow with another “30 Days of Christmas” Christmas card. I hope you can join me then.
