Welcome to week twenty of our 2020-2021 Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase.
Each week various members of our Art With Heart Colour Creations team will be bringing you weekly colour inspiration as we showcase our range of over 50 beautiful Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.
Week 20 – Gray Granite
Gray Granite is very similar to Crumb Cake in that it’s an incredibly versatile neutral colour: not too light, not too dark and it looks really fabulous with any colour you’d like to pair it with. And although I usually pair gray with silver, Gray Granite is a brownish gray so I also love pairing it with gold.
My colour combination today uses only three colours: Gray Granite, Gold Foil and Whisper White.
One of the great things about having a mother and a best friend who both share your crafting passion is that we can craft together and borrow each other’s supplies! My mum lent me the the beautiful Dove of Hope bundle this week…and it was the perfect set to showcase Gray Granite.
This is a such a great bundle for quick and easy cards I ended up making three cards. Card one was inspired by this sheet of designer series paper from the Peony Garden DSP – this pack of DSP is on sale for the month of October.
A simple white dove created from three die cuts and a pre-cut gold wreath made this card child’s play. All I had to add was a the “Peace Joy Love” sentiment stamped in Gray Granite and a bow of Wonder of the Season Gold cord topped with a gold dot die.
I created the gold dot using the row of dots die in the Detailed Dove dies to die cut some scrap gold foil from the Forever Gold laser-cut paper.
My square card uses a Gray Granite card base to bring out the pretty detail in the Plush Poinsettia specialty paper – I love the texture of this flocked vellum.
After fussy cutting the word peace from the the “Peace Joy Love” sentiment I used more of the die cut gold dots to embellish the card. The sprig in the dove’s mouth has also been die cut from extra gold foil in the Forever Gold laser-cut paper.
I used the same die cuts as my first dove, but achieved a totally different look just by changing the way the wings sat on the dove’s body.
The final card was inspired by one the incredibly talented members of the Artisan Design team: Martin Stone. Although I’ve copied the basic layout of his card I’ve made this card my own by using different colours, different trim and embellishments and a different embossing folder for the background layer.
The dove is die cut but the “Peace” sentiment is fussy cut. This time instead of using the Wonder of the Season Gold cord for my bow I used the Forever Greenery Gold Trim.
All three cards have three different background layers — flocked vellum, embossed card stock and designer series paper — but their geometric patterns are very similar.
I wonder which background layer and card design you prefer?
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Art With Heart team have created with Gray Granite today. Click on the links below to see what they’ve made.

Welcome to week seventeen of our 2020-2021 Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase.

Week 17 – Garden Green
I have to confess that Garden Green is probably my least used green – it’s not that I don’t like this colour, it’s that I always tend to reach for Old Olive or Mossy Meadow instead.
But when I saw Garden Green paired with Very Vanilla in the Boho Indigo leaf die cuts that come in the Boho Indigo Product Medley and the Boho Indigo Refill Kit I wondered why I don’t use Garden Green more often.
I wanted to use as many of these gorgeous Garden Green leaves as possible on my card so I made a modified bridge card with an extra strip inside.
This is what it looks like laying flat for postage or to slide into an envelope.
The vases were stamped in Soft Suede – I just love the different patterns on these vases! For the two front sides of the card I added a layer of the embossed Very Vanilla card stock that comes in the Boho Indigo Product Medley and the Boho Indigo Refill Kit.
Did you notice the gold foliage that matched the gold foiling on the leaves? It’s the Forever Gold Laser-cut specialty DSP. Just like the Garden Green Die cuts it makes card making so quick and easy.
Here’s what the card looks like standing up from above with the extra panel inside.
The striped DSP from toile Tidings DSP perfectly matched so I used it on the inside and the back of the card. The “Thank You” sentiment is stamped onto another die cut, which along with the gold foiled flowers also comes in the Boho Indigo Product Medley and the Boho Indigo Refill Kit.
The final touch on the front of the card is a gold trim bow from the forever Greenery Trim Combo pack.
I quickly made an envelope to match using a sheet of the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Art With Heart team have created with Garden Green today.

Week 5 -Blushing Bride
Blushing Bride is part of the Subtles collection of colours. It is available as a Classic Stampin’ Pad and ink refill, Stampin’ Write marker, Subtle Designer Series Paper and Gorgeous Posies Card Kit, or you can purchase it within any of the Subtles collections.
My card today is a sweet little birdhouse that features the Stampin’ Up! Birds & Branches Bundle. How cute are these little birds!
Blushing Bride looks amazing with any shade of brown so this is the colour combination I chose today.
I wanted to create a birdhouse very simply without using fussy templates so I decided to make a square card that folds at the top and then attach a roof to the top fold.
The new Triangle stitched dies made this super easy to do – I simply attached them to the top fold with Tear’n’tape after my card was completed.
Here’s a closer look at my sweet little birds. I stamped them in Sahara Sand and then Early Espresso – To create my birds with Two-Step Stampin’, I stamped the silhouette image in Sahara Sand and then stamped the detailed image in Early Espresso. I used my water painter to add a touch of Blushing Bride to their tummies.
The Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty paper, Gold Metallic Trim and Gilded Gems in the middle of the Blushing Bride flowers are the final touch, with the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set stamped in Early Espresso.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Art With Heart team have created with Blushing Bride today.

Welcome to the Monthly Art With Heart Creative Showcase.
This month the team are featuring projects using their favourite products from the new Stampin’ Up! 2020-21 Catalogue. The new catalogue is full of amazing new stamp sets, some bundled with dies or punches. The range of kits, papers and accessories complete the range of products you will see featured in this Showcase.
I don’t know about you, but choosing a favourite product is like choosing a favourite child. Impossible to do! However after much consideration I decided to make some cards using products from the stunning Forever Greenery Suite.
I love everything about this suite – the DSP, especially. But I think my absolute favourite part of this suite is the Gold 1/16 ” trim that comes with Vanilla Ribbon in the Forever Greenery Trim combo pack.
Tonight I made three different cards that all use the Forever Greenery Suite as well as some other new products.
My first card is a square card that actually features a different embossing folder – the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder from the Peony Garden Suite. Isn’t this embossing folder just stunning?
The circle is cut out with the largest of the layering circles and I used one of the stamps from the Forever Fern stamp set, stamped in Pretty Peacock, Pear Pizzaz and some Early Espresso.
The Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper adds an elegant touch of bling.
Card two uses a patterned paper from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper pack. I love how this rich dark wooden paper makes the elements on top of the card really pop.
But of course the main focal point of this card is the gorgeous Gold Hoop Embellishment tied with a bow of Gold 1/16 ” from the Forever Greenery Trim combo pack and another die cut piece from the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper. The different green foliage are stamped and die cut using the Forever Fern Bundle.
The layout for my final card is a design I cased from a card made by Dani Dziama, who was an Artisan Design team member a few years ago. I loved the amount of white space on her card, but I changed all the main elements to make it my own.
The embossed white panel has been embossed using one of the Greenery embossing folders and I used one of the scalloped square layering dies to cut out some of the gorgeous Forever Greenery DSP.
For many of my photos today I’ve used one of the sheets of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper as my background because I love the way the cards look against this DSP. This paper below looks like real wood – it is amazing!
The next Art With Heart Team member to share their new catalogue projects is the super creative Andrea Sargent. I can’t wait to see what she’s made tonight.

Today I’m giving you a sneak peek of the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty paper, the Forever Greenery Trim combo pack…and farewelling a beautiful product you might have previously overlooked: The Peaceful Poppies elements.
Let’s take a look at this stunning new Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty paper. In each pack you receive 6 sheets in total, three each of two different designs. One side of the paper is gold and the other side is white. This photo shows the two different designs in both gold and in white.
Here’s a close up of the white side of the sheets with card front sized pieces.
The other sheet has a wreath, boughs and beautiful leaves.
The two cards I’ve made today also use the soon to be retired Peaceful Poppies Elements. As you can see in my photo below there are three different elements in the Peaceful Poppies Elements: top left is embossed watercolour paper, top middle are card stock die cut images and top right is embossed vellum.
My “Happy Birthday” card uses the white side of one of the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty paper card fronts, and the Peaceful Poppies Elements embossed watercolour paper.
To colour my poppies I transferred Flirty Flamingo ink and Granny Apple Green ink directly from my ink pads onto acrylic blocks and then used my aqua painter brush to lift the ink off the block and colour in the poppies and leaves.
Once they were dry I attached them the card front, added a strip of gold from the edge of the specialty paper, as well as a sentiment and a bow of the new gold trim. Some gold sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins complete my card. I love how this new gold trim frays at the end!
The other card uses the wreath from the other sheet of the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty paper, and the vellum and die cut Peaceful Poppies Elements. I used my Old Olive Blend pen to colour the reverse side on the vellum leaves before adhering to the wreath.
Again, a sentiment, a bow of the new gold trim and assorted sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins complete my card.
Tomorrow I will be sharing some more cards with you, but in the meantime you can view all the retiring products in my online shop.
