Day 22 of the 30-Day Christmas Card Making Challenge

Day 22 of the 30-Day Christmas Card Making Challenge

The challenge for Day 22 of the 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge is a colour combination: Soft Lavender, Midnight Blue and Silver.

I’ve chosen Night of Navy, Fresh Freesia and Silver Foil for my Christmas card.

The Grove Dies were used to die cut night of Navy card stock to create the forest frame and to die cut the two deer from silver foil.

The background DSP with the touch of Fresh Freesia comes from the Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper. I’ve used this stunning watercolour scene.

The silver heat embossed sentiment comes from the  Peaceful Season stamp set. I’ve only used the first half of the sentiment.

To do this I’ve covered the parts of the sentiment I don’t want to use with a Post It note, stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and then carefully removed the Post It note BEFORE stamping the sentiment onto the Night of Navy cardstock and heat embossing it.

I’ll be back tomorrow with another “30 Days of Christmas” Christmas card and the final AWH Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2024!

I hope you can join me then.

AWH Heart of Christmas Week 1

AWH Heart of Christmas Week 1

The Art With Heart, Heart of Christmas team are back for 2024 and ready to inspire you for the next seventeen weeks with our Heart of Christmas blog hop!

It’s been so cold here recently I decided to embrace the winter vibes and create a snowy Christmas card to kick off our Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2024.

As demonstrators we get to preorder from the Christmas Catty (September – December Catalogue) tomorrow morning, but in the meantime we have some amazing new online exclusives, Annual Catalogue products and carryover items to play with until the new products arrive.

I’m using the online exclusive, Greetings of the Season Bundle.

The Annual Catalogue bundle, Country Birdhouse.

The carry over Forever Forest dies.

And these carry over items, Grove dies and the Grassy Grove stamp set.

My colour combination is Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Basic White and Basic Black. The embossed background is created with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder. This will be getting a lot of use for my Christmas cards.

The door on the house is created using one of the dies from the new Greetings of the Season bundle with the “For You” sentiment white heat embossed. I popped an adhesive snowflake on the Crumb Cake window and added a tiny bow of Black Bakers twine.

My wooden cabin in the snow has been die cut using the Country Birdhouse dies from the Country Woods DSP – there are so many wonderful wood patterns in this DSP pack!

The trees and the deer are from the Grassy Grove stamp set and Grove dies.

Inside the card I’ve used the largest sentiment from the Greetings of the Season stamp set.

Now it’s time to hop in over to our next participant, the lovely Sharon Davern – I can’t wait to see what Sharon has made this week!

If the next button link is not working or you’d like to see the entire list of participants go to Sharon Davern’s blog.

The AWH tea will be back on Wednesday night, showcasing Cajun Craze, or you can enjoy some more Heart of Christmas inspiration next Monday night.

I hope you can join us then!

Stampin’ Up! Grove Dies & Lights Aglow DSP Christmas Card

Stampin’ Up! Grove Dies & Lights Aglow DSP Christmas Card

Welcome to week ten of the Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop!

How dark is too dark when it comes to Christmas cards? I’ve gone super dark this week – I actually intended to make a white and blue card so I’m not quite sure how I ended up with a card this dark!

My mum kindly lent me the Grassy Grove bundle last week and I’ve had so much fun playing with it, combining it with the gorgeous Lights Aglow DSP and gold foil for this elegant Christmas card.

The deer are die cut in gold foil to pick up the gorgeous gold starry night in the Lights Aglow DSP.

I’ve used the “Magic is in the Air” sentiment from the Christmas to Remember stamp set because this forest scene looks quite magical to me with the gold stars glimmering in the dark night sky.

Inside the card I’ve used left over Lights Aglow DSP to decorate the insert. Normally I would use white, however white felt too stark against the black as there is no white on the front of the card, so I used Smoky Slate cardstock instead as there is some dark grey in the Lights Aglow DSP.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Andrea Sargent – I can’t wait to see what Andrea has created today!

If at any time you find a broken link, you can find the complete list of all participants on Sharon’s blog.
