Tonight is week fifty, the very last week of our Art With Heart 2022-23 Colour Creations blog hop! I
Next week we start afresh on Wednesday, 3rd May, featuring the five new In colours every Wednesday in May, followed by the four new core colours in June and then the the rest of the core colours throughout the year.
This week we are featuring Soft Suede, one of the retiring Neutral Colours. I will really miss this colour for animals, trees, wood and nature scenes in particular.
My card this week is basically just DSP and fussy cutting, apart from the sentiments on both my cards. I’ve used the retiring (and currently on sale) Happy Forest Friends DSP, one of my favourite DSPs ever!
For both my cards I simply fussy cut images from the Happy Forest Friends DSP and then started layering.
Card one has a lot of white space and features the largest tree from the Happy Forest Friends DSP.
I also added a strip of the Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim, some Brushed Brass Butterflies and a bow of Linen Thread.
Card Two has a DSP layer behind the forest scene that features the gorgeous Soft Suede bear.
This card also features Brushed Brass Butterflies and a bow of Linen Thread.
The “Hello” sentiment on both cards is from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set, stamped in Soft Suede and die cut using a die from the Tailor Made Tags Dies.
I’ve altered these die shapes after die cutting by either cutting of the tag end (card two) or turning the square end of the tag die around and die cutting it again to square off the tag and make it into a rectangle instead (card one).
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Di Furniss – I can’t wait to see what Di has made this week!

We’ll be back next Wednesday, May 3, with our brand new Colour Creations blog hop for the 2023-24 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue, showcasing a gorgeous new 2023-24 In Colour, Boho Blue!
Welcome to week forty six of our Art With Heart 2022-23 Colour Creations blog hop – only four more weeks to go!
This is a weekly blog hop where we showcase the stunning range of Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order over 12 months and this week we are featuring Smoky Slate from the Neutrals family.
Stampin’ Up! have a colour refresh happening and all the demonstrators get to find out the new colours and the retiring this Thursday morning – so exciting. Smoky Slate is part of the neutrals family – I love the versatility of all these neutrals and I don’t want any of them to retire!
I know it’s an obvious choice, however I couldn’t resist using the Elephant Parade bundle for my centre step card tonight. The cuteness factor in these elephants is simply wow!
The cardbase is Smoky Slate cardstock and the gorgeous background DSP on my centre step card is from the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper.
I stamped the three elephants with Memento ink and then coloured them in using Smoky Slate and Flirty Flamingo Stampin Blends. The balloon is coloured in Flirty Flamingo Stampin Blends, the Monstera leaves in Old Olive Stampin Blends and the tree trunk is a stamp from the Sweet Songbirds stamp set, stamped in Basic Gray.
The sentiment is from the Elephant Parade Stamp set, cut using my paper snips.
Where’s the third elephant, I hear you ask? Well, why don’t you take a peek inside the card!
The grass on both the front and the inside of the card is die cut from Old Olive cardstock, using a die in the Elephant Parade dies.
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Fiona Ryan – I can’t wait to see what Fiona has made this week!

Welcome to Bronwyn’s fourth Birthday Blog hop! You should have come to me from Chantell Randall.
We’re a group of stamping friends who are celebrating Bron’s 60th Birthday in 2022 with six blog hops, over six months, with six fun themes! Tonight we are CASEing the Catty from a page in the sixties (i.e. any card from pages 60-69 in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue 2022-23). I’ve decided to CASE the hedgehog card on page 61 – top right in the photo below.
I loved the way this card combined the Happy Forest Friends DSP with the gorgeous Happy Hedgehogs stamp set. The tree DSP works really well with the hedgehogs and makes them look like they are in the woods.
I’ve made my card 3D by making a fancy fold that I found on YouTube created by an overseas Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, but I’m not sure what this fancy fold is called? It was really fun to make and I altered the measurements to fit our Australian A4 cardstock.
Here’s what it looks like laying flat.
A lot of the elements on this card are images fussy cut from various DSP designs in the Happy Forest Friends DSP. The colour scheme of Calypso Coral and Soft Suede that I used to stamp and colour the hedgehogs and the large mushroom are inspired by the DSP.
My youngest niece just turned 4 last week so I made this card for her birthday, using the Alphabest stamp set and more fussy cut images to personalise the inside of the card.
The Best Label punch (part of the Alphabest bundle) was the perfect size to punch out the “Happy Birthday” sentiment on the front of the card from the Penguin Place stamp set.
Next up on Bronwyn’s Birthday Blog hop is Vicki Arrowsmith. I can’t wait to see what Vicki has created today!
I’ll be back tomorrow with the Heart of Christmas blog hop and then again on Wednesday with the AWH Colour Creations blog hop, where we will be showcasing Blushing Bride.
Until then, wherever you are in the world, stay safe, stay calm … and keep on crafting xxx
