Welcome to week 17 of our 2021-22 Colour Creations blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing Garden Green, a mid green from the Regals colour collection.
As SALE-a-bration ends tomorrow night I decided to bring together three of my favourite products from SALE-a-bration for my card tonight: the Be Dazzling DSP, the Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper and the Summer Shadow Dies.
Although Garden Green is not a green I use very often, I really like pairing it with Basic Black and Soft Seafoam.
These Summer Shadow Dies are a great die set because they work so well on their own or you can use them to cut out the stamped images from the Shaded Summer Stamp Set. You can use them as single layer dies or layer them – I’ve done both single and double layers on my card.
The black and white Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper goes with any colour and you can use it just as it is or you can colour it in.

Hello crafters! It’s the last week of SALE-a-bration so I decided to make a Christmas card that uses my favourite SALE-a-bration item. Yep, you guessed it, it’s the Be Dazzling DSP!
I’m also using a punch bundle that I initially overlooked in the July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue, the Stars are Shining bundle. At just $53 this a really affordable bundle with a versatile stamp set that includes 5 Christmas sentiments, 4 ornament stamps and a large cluster of stars on 1 star stamps you can punch out to create 6 separate stars.
This Be Dazzling DSP just had to be paired with the punched out stars and the “Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star” sentiment!
My Basic White card base measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 “; the Be Dazzling DSP layer measures 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 “; and the stamped Basic White top layer measures 4 1/2 x 4 1/2″.
After stamping in the star stamp in versamark and heat embossing it in gold embossing powder I punched the stars out with the Starlit Punch and also used punched stars out of the Be Dazzling DSP. With these 2 punches I had plenty of stars to cover my card.
A wonderful snowflake embellishment sits behind the largest Be Dazzling star, with the smallest stamped and gold embossed star sitting on top.
Gold metallic Simply Elegant Trim wrapped around the bottom of the card under the sentiment.
I’ve stockpiled a few packets of this Be Dazzling DSP to use on my Christmas cards this year. If you want to use the Be Dazzling DSP on your Christmas cards too it will be retired this Thursday, September 30, so don’t miss out!

Welcome to week 17 of our 2021-22 Colour Creations blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing Flirty Flamingo, a vibrant pink from the Brights colour collection.
The starting point for my card today was the beautiful Flirty Flamingo striped paper from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. This is a host product, only available with Stampin’ Rewards, and it includes 48 sheets (4 each of 12 double-sided designs) in these gorgeous colours: Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Misty Moonlight, Pale Papaya, Petal Pink, Pool Party and Poppy Parade.
I started my making an 5″ x 5 1/2″ bag, using these instructions for a 6×6 DSP, even though this DSP is 12 x 12″. The bag uses either one sheet of 12×12″ DSP cut into 6×6″ squares or 3 sheets of 6×6″ DSP.
Cut piece 1 at 5″ wide x 6″tall and score 1/2″ at the bottom.
Cut piece 2 to 3 1/2″wide x 5 1/2 ” tall and score 1/2″ along the left side of 5 1/2 ” edge.
Cut piece 3 to 3 1/2″wide x 5 1/2 ” tall and score 1/2″ along the right side of 5 1/2 ” edge.
Adhere the folded sides of pieces 2 and 3 to the left and right edges of piece 1.
Adhere together the overlapped section of pieces 2 and 3 together.
Fold up the bottom flap and adhere.
I wrapped the Fine Art 3/8″ (1 cm) Ribbon and gold metallic Simply Elegant Trim around the bag and tied a bow. The Simply Elegant Trim is slippery and hard to keep sitting in a nice bow shape so I always use a couple of glue dots.
The layered tags are cut using the Tailor Made Tags Dies, Pierced Blooms Dies and Flirty Flamingo and gold sequins from the Sequins For Everything.
I cut the single layer card to fit inside the bag, decorating it with the same embellishments and a strip of the striped DSP I used for the bag. All of the flowers and leaves were die cut in Basic White using the Pierced Blooms Dies and then colored with Pear Pizzazz and Flirty Flamingo ink using sponge daubers.
I added a score line either side of the strip of DSP using the score blade on my paper trimmer.
I love how quick and easy it is to achieve different shades of colour and a variegated effect by adding colour with a sponge dauber.
I’m not sure if there is an official name for a single layer card in an bag that acts like an envelope? Whatever it is called, I think I will be making more of these as they have plenty of room to also enclose photos, a Christmas letter or even gift cards of any size.
I’ve left room to write on the front of the card, however you could simply use the reverse side if you wanted to write a longer message.

Hello crafters! I had planned to make just one card this week, but a simple mistake and a desire not to waste my craft materials actually led to three cards instead. I think I’ll claim that as a win instead of a loss!
Originally, I intended to make a shaker card using the Christmas Cloche bundle, the Cloche Shaker Domes, the Be Dazzling DSP and this soft, snowy tree patterned paper from the Harvest Meadow DSP. Isn’t this pattern just stunning?
After stamping the cloche outline and the bird image from the Classic Cloche stamp set and colouring it in with my light and dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ blends, I die cut the image out using my Cloche die.
Unfortunately, I then glued the stamped and die cut image to the DSP layer that I had ALREADY ADHERED to my card front. I totally forgot that with a shaker card you use the DSP as the TOP layer to hide the self adhesive edges of the Cloche Shaker Domes!
So my shaker card became a 2D “postal version” of a shaker card instead, embellished with a Pierced Blooms Dies bow cut from the free SALE-a-bration Be Dazzled DSP.
I love these sentiments from the Classic Cloche stamp set. I’ve stamped them in Crumb Cake for each of my three cards, using a different sentiment for each card.
Take two and this time I remembered to use the cloche die to cut my DSP and adhere the DSP over the top of the card front AFTER I had adhered the Cloche Shaker Dome to the Crumb Cake card stock layer.
The shakers inside the Cloche Dome are the metallic gold and silver sequins from the Sequins For Everything embellishments.
So, why did I make a third card?
After I had die cut the opening for the Cloche Shaker Dome card I realised that the negative die piece looked just like a bell, so I die cut another “cloche bell” from the Be Dazzling DSP to match and made a quick musical card to not waste my scraps.
The Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder was the perfect choice to emboss the Crumb Cake cardstock layer. In case you are wondering, the musical score is Joy to the World.
Die cut circles of the Be Dazzling DSP to create bell clappers make the bells more realistic.

Today I’m sharing another card I made for the “G’day Fri’yay’ Card Making Challenges” Facebook group, a fortnightly Card Making Challenge with Aussie Themes. The last few times I forgot to add the banner for this group, so here it is.
The theme for this challenge is “Aussie Sports” and although my boys play a lot of sport there is one quintessentially Aussie sport that my entire family are very involved in – surf life saving. We came to surf life saving the way that many families do, via their Junior Development Program, commonly known as nippers. As far as I am aware this is a sport that is only played in Australia.
My husband, Pete, is a die-hard surfer and we live at Freshwater beach, however he insisted our kids join the neighbouring South Curl Curl nippers program instead as it is one of the roughest beaches in Australia and he knew if they learnt to handle the waves there they would be safe at any beach. Pete was the age manager for my eldest son Samuel’s age group all the way through nippers, but this scrapbook layout shows Pete holding our youngest son Ben after he finished his first year of nippers.
When I was wondering how to make a card for this sport I realised I could use Hat Builder dies from the fantastic masculine Stampin’ Up! bundle called Hats Off.
By cutting off the brim/visor off the large and the small hats it becomes the perfect shape for a nippers cap! How cool is that!
For the large nippers cap I die cut 2 large hats in Basic White and 1 hat in Pacific Point and 1 hat in Daffodil Delight. I used my paper snips to trim the visor off all 4 caps and cut the 3 colours of so there was one panel of each colour. I adhered these panels to the base cap in Basic White.
The smaller nippers cap is made from just 1 die cut cap with the visor trimmed off and 2 of the panels coloured with my Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight markers.
The ties for the nippers caps were made from White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and Basic White bakers twine.
The DSP is the retired Sand & Sea DSP inked up with some Sahara Sand ink at the edge to look like the sand on South Curl Curl beach. The Playful Alphabet letters were cut from Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Basic White card stock to match our surf club colours and spell out the letters of our surf club: South Curl Curl Surf Life Saving Club.
Want to see what that little blond cherub looks like today? My husband and both my boys all patrol South Curl Curl as volunteer surf lifesavers – in fact, my husband is the patrol captain for the first patrol of the season this afternoon. This photo was taken last Christmas day as both my boys headed off the patrol the beach – my niece and dog decided to photobomb my boys! Ben is in the middle of the photo and is now 19, about to turn 20. Where do the years go!

Welcome to week 16 of our 2021-22 Colour Creations blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing Early Espresso, a rich, dark brown from the Neutrals colour collection.
Our talented Art With Heart team leader, Claire Daly, recently shared some cards she made using a 6×6 One Sheet Wonder template and the stunning Painted Christmas DSP. Her cards were so beautiful, easy to make several at once and simply perfect for showcasing DSP patterns … I just had to have a try at making my own 6×6 One sheet wonder cards too.
I’ve used this pretty pinecone pattern for my One Sheet Wonder cards – it’s my favourite design from the Painted Christmas DSP and it combines Early Espresso with Crumb Cake, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen and Basic White.
My 6×6 One Sheet Wonder is quite different to Claire’s design – in fact, mine is so simple I’m not sure it actually qualifies as a One Sheet Wonder! You simply trim 0.5cm off one side of the 6×6 inch square, turn the paper once and cut into three 2 inch strips.
You will now have three strips of DSP that measure 5.5 x 2 inches and an extra strip that measures 0.5 x 6 inches. I discarded the long skinny strip and created 3 different card layouts using the 5.5 x 2 inch strips.
For card one I laid the strip of DSP across the top of the card and placed the sentiment in the middle of the card. The sentiments are all from the Christmas To Remember stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso and die cut out with the Seasonal Label dies.
Card two is also a horizontal card with the strip of DSP on the top, however it uses a different sentiment, placed on the right side of the card instead of the centre.
Card three has the DSP across the middle of the card, with a longer more narrow “Merry Christmas” sentiment attached in the middle of the DSP.
For all three cards I die cut the same label in Early Espresso, cut it in half and used it to layer under the sentiments.
The pinecones are stamped with stamps from the Christmas Season Stamp set, stamped in colours to coordinate with the DSP. I’m sure you’ve noticed that I also added some Be Dazzling DSP to my cards. This FREE SALE-a-bration paper is only available until the end of September, so don’t miss out!

Hello crafters! I’ve got two cards for you this week that use a great technique for crafting with scraps of DSP. I was inspired to revisit this “paper patchwork” technique after seeing a Sweet Symmetry DSP paper patchwork card made by Martin Stone, one of the very talented Artisan Design members.
Although these cards use the FREE SALE-a-bration Peaceful Prints DSP, you can use this design/layout with any DSP. The secret to getting great texture is to scrunch up each square of DSP before adhering it to the card base. When you adhere, use Multipurpose glue and don’t adhere right to the edge of each square – let the edges stick up.
I split the Peaceful Prints DSP into the reds and greens and cut 3x3cm squares using my paper trimmer. Each card also has one larger 6x6cm square of DSP which I stuck down first and then added the other squares around it.
This red card uses the DSP in Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, Sahara Sand and Basic White. The card base is half an A4 sheet of Cherry Cobbler and the deer from Peaceful Deer is stamped in Real Red.
I added a bow of linen thread to the deer.
The green card has exactly the same size and layout – I just flipped the card over to landscape before attaching my Garden Green Deer and bow of linen thread. The card base is Basic Black and the DSP is Garden Green, Sahara Sand, Basic Black and Basic White.
After photographing my cards and uploading them to my website I suddenly realised the deer and the trees on the DSP are adhered upside down on my card, whoops! Hopefully the elegance of the stamped and punched deer draws your eye away from noticing my mistakes!

Welcome to week 15 of our 2021-22 Colour Creations blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing Daffodil Delight, a bold yellow from the Brights colour collection.
I really wanted to make a daffodil card for our Daffodil Delight blog hop, however as we only use current Stampin’ Up! products in these blog hops and I didn’t have any daffodil stamps, punches or dies. It was time to get creative.
I’m not sure just how botanically correct my daffodils are, so please allow me some artistic licence!
For the embossed Whisper White layer of my card front, I’ve deliberately inked my embossed brick wall darker in some places than others, applying both Crumb Cake and Garden Green with a blending brush to give a more realistic effect.
There are two sizes of daffodils on this card. For the back layer of the larger daffodil I punched two leaves in Daffodil Delight from the Strawberry Builder Punch. I them removed the leaf stems and overlapped the dies when gluing them together.
The middle layer of the large daffodil is die cut in Daffodil Delight using the small double flower dies from the Cherry Blossom Dies. The Pumpkin Pie circle in the centre of the flower is punched with a standard sized hole punch for ring binders.
The two smaller daffodils use the flower die from Birds & More as the background layer and the triple flower die from Pierced Blooms for the middle layer, both cut from Daffodil Delight. The Pumpkin Pie flower centre is punched using the deer nose in the Deer builder punch.
Stems and leaves are die cut from Garden Green card stock using the stem die from Pierced Blooms dies and the offcuts from the circle wreath die in the Painted Labels dies. The cute little pot was stamped in Crumb Cake using a stamp from the Plentiful Plants stamp set and then die cut from Crumb Cake card stock using the coordinating Perfect Plants Dies.
I’ve recently acquired the Artistically Inked bundle and just couldn’t resist adding this gorgeous “hello” sentiment to the front of the card – isn’t this font so eye catching? I die cut it out with one of the Tasteful Labels dies.
My final touch was a Bumblebee trinket. I’ve been hoarding these – it’s time I started adding these adorable embellishments to my cards!

Today I’m sharing another card I made for the “G’day Fri’yay’ Card Making Challenges” Facebook group, a fortnightly Card Making Challenge with Aussie Themes.
The theme for this challenge is “Spring” and for me nothing announces the start of spring in Australia like wattle does. September 1 is the start of spring as well as Wattle Day, a celebration of our national flower.
To celebrate the arrival of spring I’ve created a jar of wattle sitting on the edge of a wooden table, using the Forever Fern stamp set, the coordinating Forever Flourishing dies and the Jar of Flowers stamp set with coordinating Jar punch.
Three of the new In Colours (Bumblebee, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen) were paired with Daffodil Delight to stamp and die cut my wattle. I love how “Australian” Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen look when used for foliage.
The wattle was all stamped in either Daffodil Delight or Bumblebee and then I used my Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen markers to draw on the stems of the wattle and turn them from yellow to green. The smaller wattle springs at the front are stamped using the poinsettia petals stamp set.
The large fern die was used to die cut all my foliage and then it was simply a case of chopping up the foliage and arranging it with my flowers. I used my Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen markers to also colour in the stamped stems in the jar – the jar and the stems are from the Jar of Flowers stamp set, punched out with the coordinating jar punch.
The Hello sentiment is also from the Forever Fern stamp set and a bow of Bumblebee gingham ribbon is the finishing touch.
I’ve used a piece of In Good Taste DSP set at an angle to creates the impression of the edge of a wooden table.

Hello crafters! For my cards this week I’m using the Whimsy & Wonder DSP and the Seasonal Swirl dies again, this time pairing them with the Well Defined stamp set and matching embossing folders.
I’ve also created my own matching embellishments using the leftover iridescent foil that surrounds the Wonderful Snowflakes embellishments. There is plenty of spare foil here – don’t waste it! Use your dies and punches to create homemade embellishments to match your cards.
The different elements I used for each card were inspired my the particular definition I chose from the Well Defined stamp set. I think this first card is my favourite.
I’ve used the stamp that has “Winter” as the definition word, so I used the snowflake patterned DSP, the snowflake Wintry Embossing folder, one of the Wonderful Snowflakes embellishments and tiny stitched stars from the Seasonal Swirl dies. Subtle Shimmer Sequins add a final touch of bling.
Card two uses the gratitude definition stamp, so the Thanks embossing folder from the Hello and Thanks embossing folders and stitched hearts were the obvious embellishments choice. The iridescent heart is die cut from leftover iridescent foil using the largest heart die in the Seasonal Swirl dies.
I like that this card uses mainly Christmas products to make a thank you card.
Card three is features the “Christmas” dictionary definition that references presents, so I used the Whimsy & Wonder DSP pattern with presents and holly on it. The holly embellishments are die cut using the Seasonal Swirl dies and the iridescent foil bow is die cut using the bow die from Pierced Blooms dies.
