Day 10 of the 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge is a sketch challenge and this is the sketch that inspired my card.
The focal image in the sketch is an oval which reminded me of this large lantern image from on of the designs in the sentimental Christmas DSP.
I’ve used this lantern as the focal image, fussy cutting a few of the pine branches from the same sheet of DSP to add some texture.
The double bow used two new ribbons from the online exclusives: the Gold Twisted Thread and the Lost Lagoon Soft Cording.
Although the sketch layout has two strips to the right of the focal image, the gold foil embossed “Merry Christmas” sentiment (from the Humble Home stamp set) looked so much better sitting on the lantern so my final card ended up deviating from the original sketch.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another “30 Days of Christmas” Christmas card and the AWH Heart of Christmas blog hop.
I hope you can join me then.
