Welcome to week 19 of our 2021-22 Colour Creations blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing Gorgeous Grape, a bright purple from the Brights colour collection.
I made a card and I wasn’t sure it worked. So I made another card and I still couldn’t decide which one to post …
So, I present to you my “this or that?” Gorgeous Grape cards!
This card has a Crumb Cake cardstock base and the hydrangea is coloured using the Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green Watercolour Pencils, blending them with the Blender pens. Both my cards have a Basic White layer embossed with the Typeworn Type Embossing folder.
This card has a Basic White card base and the Hydrangea is stamped with Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green. I used the long die from the Hydrangea Dies to cut the individual flowers from Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
I took this card up a notch by splattering and curling up the edges of the background embossed layer, also embossing the smaller front panel and using the Gorgeous Grape ribbon, cut in half for the bow. The stamped hydrangea is a lot darker than the hydrangea coloured in pencils in the other card.
I love the tiny tag that comes in this bundle!
This or that? I’m still not sure which card I prefer!
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Kate Morgan – I can’t wait to see what she’s made this week!

Gorgeous cards Cathy and I love all the different elements on each one. Purple hydrangeas are perfect for this colour but I like the second card by a smidge because of the beautiful bow, splatters and sentiment on the tiny tag.
Wow! I love the texture from the embossing, the intensity of colour you achieved with the blending brushes, the two ways you’ve coloured the flowers, and I love them both for different reasons. Gorgeous!!!
Oh wow Cathy – two gorgeous cards. It’s not this or that, it’s both. I love your blended backgrounds and the different directions of blending – both beautiful. The Timeworn Type embossing is a perfect background, with or without splatters (although I do love the splatters). Your water-coloured flower head is delightful and so is the layered petals and the little tag, not to mention the ribbon bow. Love both cards. Xxx
Yes, that is the perfect stamp set for this gorgous colour! I love purple hydrangeas and you haven’t disappointed, Cath. Both cards are beautiful, but I love the lighter colour of the flower. However, I love the white layered cardbase with the curling of the edge of the paper!
Both of them are gorgeous! I love the layout, colour combo and those bows.
Oh my goodness, Cathy – these are gorgeous! Great choice of bundle (that didn’t even occur to me!) to use with Gorgeous Grape. My favourite of the two is the card on the Crumb Cake base, but I love them both. You should be proud of what you have created. x
Beautiful Hydrangea cards Cathy. The darker one is my favourite, especially with the ribbon cut in half
Oh, my! The splatters and the cut in half ribbon have my heart! They are both gorgeous, but those touches are next level!
