The Holiday catalogue is finally here and it’s full of absolutely stunning products!
You can look inside the catalogue right now by going to the Catalogue page of the Stampin’ Up! website and download this pdf version for free! Or you can contact me and I’ll send you out your very own print copy. If you’d like to purchase any of the products in the catalogue you can do so by visiting my online shop here.
I’ll be back tomorrow morning with some cards made from the new catalogue or checkout my blog page or some sneak peeks of cards I’ve already made using some of the new product.
Hello fellow crafters, it’s time for some weekly “Heart of Christmas” Christmas card inspiration with the Art with Heart Team.
This week I nearly threw my cards in the bin.
You see I was trying to make a style of card called scandi style or motif, a style I absolutely love but have never made before. A style I thought I needed to get my stamping 100% accurate for it to work.
To make a scandi/motif card you begin by marking the centre point of your card with a pencil and drawing intersecting lines out from this point. After that, it’s very simple. You stamp an image in the centre of the card and then stamp outwards using a variety of stamps and colours, following the lines you’ve drawn and trying to keep everything geometrical and balanced. And when you’re done you rub out your pencil guidelines.
Can you guess which stamp sets I used to make the designs below?
I really love this mix of colours and stamps but if you look closely at the images above you’ll see my designs are not 100% lined up. In fact, some of them are way out! This is a close up of all of my cards with all their imperfections!
I was quite upset about this but when I showed my mum she begged me not to throw my attempts in the bin, reassuring me they still worked. So yesterday I decided to take her advice. I trimmed down around my stamping, mounted the designs onto matching card stock and added some embellishments.
Adding some dimension really helped lift the cards and distract from their imperfections, and his is how they look now.
For my first card I added one of the new stitched felt embellishments in the centre, as well as enamel shapes stars in pool party and real red.
On my second card I added an itty bitty bow in lemon lime twist and real red enamel dots.
Finally, for my third card I went a little crazy with the bling. I cut pieces of one of the new foil snowflakes and adhered these to the card with a facetted gem. Metallic gold shapes completed the card.
I’m really glad I listened to my mum and didn’t throw my stamping in the bin. But most importantly I decided to share these cards here to show you that even with a geometric pattern your stamping doesn’t always have to be perfect to make a lovely card.
This style of stamping really lets you get a lot of bang for your buck with your stamp sets. You can mix old and new, big and small, and I reckon this would look lovely in just 2 colours as well.
So I’m going to head back to the drawing board now and practice getting neater with this style of cardmaking…and of course, always remember to listen to my mum!
Thank’s for stopping by today. If you go to Claire Daly’s blog you’ll be able to hop to all of the other Art With Heart team members and see the beautiful Christmas creations they’ve shared with you this week.
Tonight some of the Art with Heart Stampin’ Up! team girls are sharing some fun and fabulous ideas to inspire you from our brand new Holiday Catalogue available on 1st September until 2nd January 2018. Be sure to request your copy of the catalogue today!
There are so many fantastic products in the new holiday catalogue it made it very had to choose which one to use, so I decided to use products from 3 different sets on my card this week.
The most obvious product on this card is the stunning Hometown Greeting Edgelits Dies. I’ve used my big shot to cut them out from whisper white, smoky grey and night of navy card stock. Every time I use this set of framelits I notice another tiny little detail, such as the bell in the church tower, the handle on the doors and the teeny tiny top hat on the little snowman…it’s just all too cute for words!
I knew I wanted a sentiment to add dimension to my card so I decided to use the new everyday label punch to cut out some night of navy card stock. But the most exciting part of making this card came about when I was deciding which sentiment to use with the everyday label punch.
Quite by accident I discovered that my absolute favourite sentiment from the entire catalogue (the Merry Christmas stamp in the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set) fits perfectly into the Everyday Label Punch. In fact it fits so perfectly it looks as if they are from the same bundle and designed to be used together.
Once I recovered from my excitement I just had enough time to cover the whisper white ink while it was still wet with white embossing powder and heat emboss it with my heat tool to further emphasise the beautiful font of this stamp.
The final touch for this card was little bit of bling. I used a strip of 1/8 inch silver ribbon at the bottom of the card and added a bow under the label punch. And then I stamped the moon from the Hearts Come Home stamp set (part of the Hearts Come Home bundle with the Hometown Greetings Edgelits) and sprinkled it with some silver Stampin glitter.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my holiday catalogue inspiration today. Make sure you also check our what the other ladies in our Art with Heart blog hop have made from the holiday catalogue.

Welcome back to Week 13 of our weekly Heart of Christmas blog.
Although I missed week 1, I’m determined to try to post a Christmas card or project every week until Christmas. I really love making Christmas cards and being part of this weekly blog with the Art with Heart Team is a great excuse to make Christmas cards year round. It also means I end up being super organised with my cards by the time December comes around… a win/win!
This week I wanted to make a simple card that would “hero” the gorgeous new lamppost die. This die reminds me of my one and only white Christmas in 1989, which I spend in Edinburgh (where my father’s family comes from) after a month’s holiday in the UK. It was such a special time and I loved having a white Christmas in that magical city.
The Brightly Lit Christmas bundle comes with a variety of lamps and they look great angled up or down, used singularly, or with 2 or 3 lampshades. There’s also the option of a hanging banner or sign that hangs off an arm off the lamppost (the matching stamp set has signs that fit perfectly into these banners). I’ve cut out all the dies below and photographed them beside the Brightly Lit Christmas stamp set so you can see just how many pieces you get in this bundle, how they co-ordinate together, and how versatile it is!
The perfect background for this lamppost is the softly falling embossing folder. I must admit I often forget to use my embossing folders but when I do remember to use them I just love the texture and dimension they add to my cards.
I’ve used some of the new beautiful 1/8 inch real red ribbon to attach one of the darling little boxwood wreaths to the lamppost. I actually cut the wreath in half with my scissors to make it the right dimension for this card.
Finally, to finish the card off I thought the “Merry & Bright” sentiment from the new Hearts Come Home stamp set was just the perfect match for a lamppost. If you love the Hearts Come Home bundle as much as I do take a look at my blog tomorrow as I’ll be sharing another card that features this beautiful bundle.
I love this classic and neutral colour combination of black and white because I think it really makes the green wreath and red ribbon pop. And my little reindeer just loves his fancy pom pom decorations for this week’s blog!

Product List (I can’t include a link here to the Brightly Lit bundle, the real red ribbon or the Hearts Come Home stamp set because these are not available for purchase until September 1)
Welcome back to another week of “Heart of Christmas” inspiration from the Art With Heart team. I hope you’re enjoying reading our blog as much as we’re enjoying making these cards!
I’m just loving all the products from the new holiday catalogue (contact me if you’d like a copy and I’ll post one out to you) and this week I decided to mix up some old and new products to make a box of iced gingerbread Christmas ornaments.
This packaging was so quick to make. I stamped the tag using crumb cake ink and the Merry Little Labels stamp set which I then punched out with its matching label punch. This new everyday label punch is so versatile and it has 2 new stamp sets that match it!
My ornaments are presented in a mini pizza box…so cute! They come in a pack of 8 and are food safe if you want to use them to package up edible gifts. You simply fold the precut and scored pizza box into shape and glue 2 of the bottom flaps. Then it’s all ready for you to pop your gifts inside. I wrapped mine up with burlap ribbon and 1/8 inch gold ribbon, then used some more of the ribbon to attach the gift tag.
Want to take a peek inside the box?
Using crumb cake paper, whisper white paper and ink, white embossing powder, my heat tool and various embellishments and ribbons I’ve made a set of Christmas tree ornaments that (hopefully) look like iced gingerbread ornaments for the tree.
I started by using the new quilt builder framelits and merry little quilt stamps to make the first 3 ornaments. Did you notice the silver ornament hanging from the middle one? Thats a new embellishment called mini ornaments and they also come in a pack of 8.
And I just love how the white embellishments on the star on the far right look like little blobs of royal icing on the gingerbread biscuit!
I then decided to use the cookie cutter punch and its matching stamp set to make another 3 iced gingerbread ornaments, this time using white bakers twine and linen thread to hang them from the tree.
I was having so much fun I also made a very quick and easy snowflake ornament by simply adhering and gold and a silver snowflake together and placing a gold and a clear facetted gem in the middle of each side. This time I used silver thread as the hanger.
If you wanted a last minute present you could make up a set of these snowflake ornaments and present them in one of the little pizza boxes…no stamping or die cutting required, just glue dots and a quick tie of the silver or gold thread and you’re done! I think I might make a set of these for my tree this year…they are so sparkly and beautiful!
Okay, I really, really tried to say no…but one of the naughty reindeers carried on a treat until I relented and said yes, you can be in the blog. I mean he already had the burlap ribbon tied around his neck, so what could I do?
And finally, here are all my little iced gingerbread ornaments lined up in a row!
I did attempt to take a picture of them all hanging on a tree outside but it was already way too dark, so here’s a closeup of just one of them on my very bare maple tree (it’s winter here in Australia).

Product List (unfortunately I can’t include the new products from the holiday catalogue in this list yet)
Welcome back to another week of “Heart of Christmas” inspiration from the Art With Heart team. I hope you’re enjoying reading our blog as much as we’re enjoying making these cards!
Well I received my “little” order from the holiday catalogue this week but as luck would have it have had very little time to play with my new goodies.
However I was determined to bring you a card made with one of the stunning products and so I decided to make a quick and easy card with the bundle that was at the absolute top of my wish list…”Hearts Come home”.
I love absolutely every stamp, every sentiment and every die in this bundle, and this card only uses a fraction of them all.
The stunning background paper comes from a sensational DSP pack called “Christmas Around the World”. This paper belongs to a different suite but the beauty of Stampin’ Up! is that all the products co-ordinate across the suites and I just love mixing and matching them all.
Here’s a close-up to show you how the paper looks like softly falling snow and the intricate detail of these gorgeous little framelits.
I stamped the “Joy to the World” in whisper white and then embossed it with my heat embossing tool using white embossing power.
Did you notice the tinsel on the top of the card? This is a great way to add a little bling to your cards. It’s called Mini Tinsel Trim and it comes in a pack with a roll of silver and a roll of red. So cute!
I used the off-cuts of my tinsel to make an embellishment that sits on top of the 1/8 inch silver ribbon and bow, and the beautiful pool party shimmer ribbon. Just between you and me I think it might be little too much for this card, but with the clear facetted jewel in the middle, it certainly adds a wow factor to the card!
I love this colour combination of crumb cake (card base), pool party (DSP and ribbon), whisper white (framelits and sentiment) and silver (tinsel, ribbon and facetted jewel).

Oh my goodness me the Holiday Catalogue is quite simply stunning. I’ve just placed a “little” order this morning and hopefully next week I’ll have a new card made from one of the gorgeous suites featured in it.
Luckily I was able to place an early pre-order for the beautiful Carols of Christmas bundle and this week’s Christmas card features that set.
I’ve previously used the little deer in cards I’ve made with this set but this week I’m featuring one of the big sentiments in the stamp set, as well as the gorgeous little ornament stamps and dies.
I CASED this card from a lovely one I saw on Pinterest but I forgot to save it and now can’t remember who to attribute this design to! The original card featured Tranquil Tide as the background, but I’ve decided to use black…not very traditional I know, but it does make the other colours really pop.
You could use any coloured ink to make the baubles, just make sure you stamp first and then die cut using the magnetic platform. On close inspection I realise I didn’t line my stamp and dies up perfectly–I should have used some washi tape to hold the dies in place, but I still think my little baubles look very pretty. The finishing touch is the tiniest rhinestone basic jewel in the centre of the ornaments.
I love how this sentiment fits perfectly into the layering squares framelits…I’ve used the scalloped layer to cut the silver foil sheet that sits behind the sentiment. The silver theme is continued with the bow made out of 1/8 inch silver ribbon, adhered with a stampin dimensional.
This is such a quick and easy card to make and definitely will be one that I reproduce with a variety of colours.
And my little white reindeer are loving getting dressed up in different ribbons and pom poms to be part of my photo shoot every week!

The Art with Heart Team ladies are selecting their favourite colour combinations to share with you tonight. Choosing the right colour scheme can be essential to your design and with Stampin’ Up!’s stunning collection, there are 50 colours to choose from. There’s sure to be some combinations that work really well together and you can take inspiration from.
Now sit back and enjoy some time out of your day to cruise through our blog hop and soak up some colour explosion eye candy!
My Favourite Colour Combination
Just take a look at the beautiful colours we have to chose from. Choosing just one or two of these gorgeous colours feels like choosing a favourite child…I mean it’s just not right, is it!
When I tried to decide what my favourite colour combination was I realised I really love monochrome cards that use just 2 colours together, usually a neutral colour (such as whisper white, very vanilla, crumb cake, smoky slate, basic black or one of the metallic papers) with one other colour. I mainly use a lot of crumb cake and whisper white (and I really do love using these 2 colours together on their own) but today I’ve decided to make a card that uses another of my all time favourite colour combinations: navy and white.
Navy and white always looks classic, crisp, cool, clean and elegant. It is a timeless colour combination that works well for both male and female cards and I’ve used it today to make a Christmas card with the new Carols of Christmas bundle.
You can order the “Carols for Christmas” bundle from the 1st August, one month ahead of the Holiday catalogue release date…or you can order it right now if you are a demonstrator or decide to join up as a demonstrator.
The beautiful background DSP in this card is from a non-christmas set, Naturally Eclectic, but it works perfectly with this Christmas card and looks to me like gently falling snow. The frame is cut using card builder framelits that are part of the Carols of Christmas bundle.
The sentiment is from “Oh, What Fun” stamp set and stamped onto whisper white and night of navy card stock, then cut out using the oval stitched shape framelits. The die cut trees and reindeer fitted perfectly around the curve of the stitched shape oval and I layered the deer on top of the trees with Stampin’ dimensionals to provide depth and contrast.
This gorgeous Night of Navy crinkled seam binding ribbon makes the softest bows…here I layered it to the card on top of a bow made out of mini sequin trim in sliver, topped with a rhinestone basic jewel.
For Christmas I’d like to also make a version of this card using some of my other favourite colour combinations, such as real red and whisper white, soft sky and whisper white, and of course my other very favourite colour combination…crumb cake, whisper white and gold or copper foil paper!
Thanks for stopping by.
I hope you has as much fun reading my blog as I had creating it.
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the very talented Sharon Davern.

“Deer”y me I just adore this little deer stamp and matching die in the new Carols for Christmas bundle. You can see the little deer at the very top of the photograph below.
This tiny deer stamp and die is part of a new Christmas bundle called “Carols for Christmas”, which you can order from the 1st August, one month ahead of the Holiday catalogue release date…or you can order it right now if you are a demonstrator or decide to join up as a demonstrator.
This little deer is so very little I decided he needed a mum and a dad to look after him and luckily I had just the right stamps and dies in my other Stampin’ Up! sets!
Don’t they just make the cutest little family?
The daddy deer (far left) is from the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set and is then cut out with the Santa’s Sleigh thinlits. The mummy deer (in the middle) is from the Merry Mistletoe stamp set and then I fussy cut her out (don’t look too closely as fussy cutting isn’t my strong suite!) and the baby deer stamp and die is from Carols for Christmas.
The sentiment is from Oh, What Fun, punched out with the classic label punch. The ends of the sentiment and the deer’s eyes were created by using sequins from the gold mini sequin trim.
I stamped in Lemon Lime Twist ink onto Lemon Lime Twist card stock to pick up the colour of the foil spots on the stunning foil frenzy paper. Burlap ribbon, linen thread and an in colour itty bitty bow finish the card off.
I hope you enjoyed stopped by today. You can see all the other beautiful cards the Art With Heart Team have made by going to Claire’s blog.

I’ll be back next week with some more Christmas Card inspiration.
I’ve always loved advent calendars, but the one I remember most vividly from my childhood was a Christmas card that had a mini advent calendar as its front with a tiny image under each of the 24 flaps.
So as soon as we received the “Tabs for Everything” stamp set at Onstage earlier this year, I knew I needed to buy the matching Circle Tap punch and try to recreate this mini advent calendar card from my childhood.
The calendar flaps are simply created by punching out garden green, whisper white and cherry cobbler card stock with the circle tab punch, then cutting these punches in half and adhering the “t-bar section” to the card with tear’n’tape. The numbers are stamped with the labeler alphabet stamp set and the wreath in the middle of the card is made using the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set and matching dies, adhered with stamping dimensionals and decorated with silver thread and Rhinestone jewels.
I’m really happy with the final result but I will admit it took me a while to figure out how to make this card because most of my stamps do not have small enough images to fit under the Circle Tab punch. It was only when I got my hands on the Be Merry DSP that I worked out how to do this. I used my 3/4 inch (1.9cm) circle punch to punch out tiny images from the DSP…they were just the right size to fit under the tab. And there was enough variety in the design of the paper to allow me to punch out 24 different images so that every day is a suprise!
Because the pattern of the DSP wasn’t always centred or even around the main image I’d punched out I simply took my Garden Green and cherry Cobbler Markers out and extended the pattern of the DSP to further enhance the tiny images. The picture below show the bottom 5 images before I used the marker to extend the pattern (the rest of the images have already been done).
And here they are all done…I had so much fun doing these!
I needed a fairly large sentiment inside the card because I had to make the card base quite big (6 x 6 inches) to fit the 24 tags onto the front, so I used a combination of the stamps from the “Oh, what Fun” stamp set.
If you look closely at some of the numbered flaps on the advent calendar you’ll see some brand new gorgeous little ornament shapes in whisper white that I’ve used to stamp the numbers onto.
These are dies from a new Christmas bundle called “Carols for Christmas”, which you can order from the 1st August, one month ahead of the Holiday catalogue release date. You can see these little dies on the “Deck the Halls” card below, but in this picture they’re stamped with the ornament stamp from the Carols for Christmas set.
I hope you enjoyed stopped by today. You can see all the other beautiful cards the Art With Heart Team have made by going to Claire’s blog.
