Welcome back to our Colour Creations Showcase as we continue our showcase of over 50 beautiful Stampin’ Up! colours in alpha order.
This week we are showcasing Shaded Spruce, a dark green colour from our Regals Family.
This is our last Colour Creations Showcase before the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue retires so I’m using some of my retiring favourites for this card: the Subtles Embossing folder, the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set and the Winter Woods stamp set.
I can’t take credit for the basic design of this card as I’ve CASED it from a beautiful Christmas card made by an overseas Stampin’ Up! demonstrator called Theresa McEntee. However, I felt April was was just a tad early to start making Christmas Cards so I’ve changed the sentiment and some elements of Theresa’s design to make a masculine birthday card instead.
If you don’t already have the Winter Woods stamp set it’s one I definitely recommend adding to your collection for simple stamping and for masculine cards. Although this stamp set only has a Christmas sentiment, I turned it into a birthday card by simply using a “happy birthday” sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set.
Can you see the lovely texture I’ve added to the stamped front panel using the subtle embossing folder? If you want to try this technique don’t forget to always stamp first and then emboss afterwards.
I love the colour combination of Shaded Spruce with Soft Sea Foam. Although they are the darkest and the lightest greens in the Stampin’ Up colour range they work really well together. All of the trees have been stamped in Shaded Spruce but I’ve “stamped off” some of the trees to create depth in my forest.
I can’t wait to see what everyone else has created with Shaded Spruce today!

Welcome to the Monthly Art With Heart Creative Showcase. Tonight we’re sharing some ideas for cards that projects using J2J mini (AKA the January – June 2021 Mini Catalogue) and SALE-a-bration products.
Yesterday shared with you a card I made using one of the SALE-a-bration items I earned for FREE by placing an order over $180 – the Berry Blessings Stamp Set & Berry Delightful DSP bundle. This Berry Delightful DSP is just stunning – there’s not a sheet in this DSP pack that I don’t love!
I have to admit that I initially overlooked the Sweet Strawberry Bundle in the January – June 2020 mini catalogue, but when I realised how well it co-ordinated with the Berry Blessings bundle I just had to get it too.
Because the Berry Blessings bundle is a FREE SALE-a-bration item you technically get both these bundles (if your order is over $180) for just $55.75!!!
My favourite thing about these two bundles together is that the Strawberry builder punch punches out images from the Berry Delightful DSP, which is why I decided to make a card today that showcases these punched pieces on both the front and the inside of the card.
Here’s the front of the card.
But it’s inside the card where the magic really happens because there is a pop-up wreath inside!
The large strawberry patterned DSP on the front of this card is the sheet you can use to punch out three shapes using the Strawberry Builder Punch: the strawberry, the blossom and the leaf.
And these three images are in different colours so you can punch out a variety of images with the one punch – it’s so cool!
This co-ordination with the punch and the DSP made this card so easy to make. For the front of the card I used my subtle embossing folder to emboss the DSP before layering it on top of a layer of Basic White and adding a layered sentiment from the Sweet Strawberry Stamp set.
Here’s a close up of the punched out blossoms and leaf that decorate my sentiment.
My pop up wreath card looks a lot harder to make than it actually is thanks to two simple folds in the white card stock layer and a simple wreath made using the Strawberry Builder punch.
Always turn your punch upside down when punching out images and if you want to get more punched images out of this DSP use your paper snips to firstly cut the images apart. Then attach a post-it note to the reverse side of the cut out DSP image and use it as a holder while you punch the images out.
The wreath pieces were layered on a circle of Basic White, cut out with the largest layering circle die. I stamped the sentiment from the Berry Blessings Stamp set in the middle of the circle before arranging and adhering my wreath pieces.
I also decorated the top of the inside of the card using leftover punched leaves, blossoms and a strawberry. Because the Strawberry Builder punch cuts off the top of the strawberry I fussy cut a strawberry top from the DSP and glued it on top of the punched out shape.
The great thing about this fancy fold pop-up wreath card is that is closes flat to pop in an envelope, it sits up open to display the wreath and it also lies flat when fully opened.

Week 21 – Highland Heather
I love Stampin’ Up!’s stunning tricolour purple ribbon so much I designed my card around it this week, creating a bunch of flowers tied with a double bow of this ribbon – its three stripes are Purple Posy, Highland Heather (our colour this week) and Gorgeous Grape.
The other colours included in my bunch of flowers are Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate. This is such a soft and feminine colour combination.
The Forever Fern bundle was just perfect for this project – its impossible to make a bad card with this stamp set and co-ordinating Forever Flourishing dies, and there are so many way you can use this bundle.
Because I wanted to create a double bow with the stripes in same direction on both sides of my bow I used a bow maker to carefully tie the double bow. If you don’t have a bow maker you can use a fork or even your fingers – there are heaps of free tutorials on Pinterest that will show you how to make a perfect bow of any size.
Stampin’ up!’s subtle embossing folder gives a lovely texture to the Whisper White card stock layer. The “hello” sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink before being heat embossed using white emboss power.
Because I had so many left over die cut pieces I decided to make a quick pop-up planter basket for the middle of my card. I traced around the smallest stitched rectangle to work out where to cut my pop-up mechanism and then simply used my paper snips to cut two side slits into a Whisper White insert.
Once I cut my two side slits I simply flipped out the pop-up mechanism (so it pops in the opposite direction to the card insert) and added a piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock embossed using the Brick & mortar Embossing Folder to create the planter box.
As well as attaching foliage pieces to the inside of the planter box pop-up section I also attached some to the inside of the Whisper White card base. Just a note of warning, when attaching die cut piece to your pop-up section just make sure they are positioned in a way that your card can close smoothly and they don’t stick out the sides when the card is closed.
Here’s a quick 17 second video showing you how my pop-up card moves.
The “to a friend that makes me smile” sentiment is the final touch for the inside of the pop-up card, stamped in Highland Heather.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Art With Heart team have created with Highland Heather today. Click on the links below to see what they’ve made.

Welcome to week ten of our 2020-2021 Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase.
Each week various members of our Art With Heart Colour Creations team will be bringing you weekly colour inspiration as we showcase our range of over 50 beautiful Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.
Week 10 – Cinnamon Cider
Cinnamon Cider is a 2020-22 In Color and one of the exciting new products available in this colour is a velveteen paper. You’ll find the velveteen paper pack is on page 153 of the 2020 Annual Catalogue and this soft flocked paper comes in Cinnamon Cider, Highland Heather and Soft Sea Foam.
I thought this soft velvety paper would be ideal for bringing the rabbit from the Nature’s Beauty stamp set to life, so my cards this week feature this darling little rabbit.
How adorable is does he look stamped with Memento Ink onto the Cinnamon Cider velveteen paper? I die cut the image using a circle die and mounted it onto a scalloped circle of Basic Black die cut using the larger scalloped circle die from the layering circle dies.
It’s really hard to show the soft texture of this velveteen paper and the effect of the subtle embossing on the Whisper White card stock but this close up gives you a clearer view. I just can’t stop stroking this tiny little Cinnamon Cider bunny. His fluffy white tail was coloured with the Chalk Marker.
For card two my bunny rabbit has moved to the woods. I’ve stamped him onto Whisper White card stock, coloured him in with my Cinnamon Cider blends and created a landscape using my Basic Black marker to extend the lines in the stamps.
The background Woodland embossing folder really pairs well with the Nature’s Beauty stamps.
Card three continues the woodland theme, this time with a background stamped using the tree trunk stamp from the Winter Wood stamp set. I stamped my tree trunk stamp in Cinnamon Cider ink onto Cinnamon Cider card stock before using my Chalk Marker to add White.
I love how the Wrapped in Texture embossing folder echos the snow I added to the trees. You get two embossing folders in this pack and you’ll find them on page 9 of the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue.
The white dot on top of my linen thread bow is another new product from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue – the All the Trimmings Embellishments on page 25.
All three cards have the same sentiment “Thinking of You” which I created using the marker technique.
The sentiment in the Winter Woods set actually says “Thinking of You This Season” but by using my Cinnamon Cider marker to just colour in the “thinking of you” section of the stamp I was able to create a more versatile and year round sentiment for my cards.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Art With Heart team have created with Cinnamon Cider today. Click on the links below to see what they’ve made.
Next Tuesday we’ll be showcasing one of the Brights: Coastal Cabana. We hope you can join us all then.
