Welcome to week twenty of our Art With Heart 2022-23 Colour Creations blog hop!
This is a weekly blog hop where we showcase the stunning range of Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order over 12 months and this week we are featuring Flirty Flamingo from the Brights family.
Tonight’s card features another new die set from the Perfect Partners Promotion – the Apple Blossom dies that coordinate with the Apple Harvest stamp set.
My slimline card was inspired by some of the design elements in this card that created by one of the amazing Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team members, Stesha Bloodhart in the USA.
Because I went away for a few nights over the weekend I’ve run out of time this week and made my card just before the blog went live tonight. I do apologise for the quality of photography as I had to photograph my card with overhead lights on.
The slimline Crumb Cake card base is topped with a white card stock layer that has been embossed with the Typeworn Type Embossing Folder before a dusting of Flirty Flamingo was added a blending brush.
The apple blossom flowers, leaves and stems are die cut from Basic White cardstock using the Apple Blossom dies and then coloured with Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Rachel Palmieri – I can’t wait to see what Rachel has made this week!

Welcome to week 37 of our 2021-22 Colour Creations blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing Poppy Parade from the Brights family.
One of my favourite things in the world is receiving a bunch of flowers. Any flower, any colour, any combination … I really love them all! This week I needed to make a belated birthday card for a very special friend who is also a paper crafter, so I decided to make her a paper bunch of flowers with the Flowering Tulips Bundle.
My colour combination was inspired by some of the colours from the gorgeous Flowering Fields DSP: Poppy Parade, Petal Pink, Pear Pizzazz, Basic White and Basic Black.
I haven’t yet seen any cards that combine both types of flowers in the Flowering Tulips Bundle: the 3D folded tulips (made with the Tulips Dies) and the stamped and die cut open tulips (made with the Flowering Tulips Stamp Set and the Tulips Dies,) so I decided to give it a go.
I’m must say I’m really happy with the exuberance and dimension of this card – it’s definitely not one to pop in the post, though!
The soft Petal Pink cardstock layer has been embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder to match the type on the Vellum Layering Designs that I’ve wrapped the bunch of flowers in – it really does look like a bunch of flowers wrapped in newspaper!
The tips of the Petal Pink pieces in the 3D tulips were lightly sponged with Poppy Parade before I assembled the 3D tulips. The bone folder and my fingers added dimension to the tulips in the bouquet.
By adhering the tulip to the envelope with a Stampin’ up! dimensional just below the envelope flap, the tulip works as both a decoration and an envelope closure mechanism, allowing the envelope flap to be easily opened and closed many times without damaging the DSP!

Welcome to week 31 of our 2021-22 Colour Creations blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing Night Of Navy from the Neutrals family, one of my all time favourite Stampin’ Up! colours.
My three Night of Navy cards all use a different image from a new stamp set called “In the Moment”. If you like colouring, this stamp set is a must have and it can be found on page 57 of the new January – June catalogue.
I’ve combined Night of Navy with Crumb Cake and Balmy Blue for a classic colour scheme and used my light and dark Stampin’ Blends! to colour each of the images after I’d stamped them in Tuxedo Memento ink.
Each card has a different Night of Navy background. For the woman relaxing with a good book I naturally couldn’t go past the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder – what a perfect match!
I ran my Night of Navy ink across the inside surface of the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder before embossing the background Basic white layer. TIP – to clean the ink off your folder once you’ve embossed simply run the embossing folder under tap water and then leave to dry.
I’ve used another new product for the second card – the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks. By using a Blending Brush to lift ink off the Night of Navy ink, it was quick and easy to create an lovely ombre background layer.
All three cards have a bow of Night of Navy Bakers Twine which is from the new “Fan Baker’s Twine” pack. This pack contains three spools of Baker’s Twine in Evening Evergreen, Night of Navy, and a Poppy Parade/white twisted twine.
Card three was the fastest of the three to create because the coloured image is layered on this beautiful Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper. I love this DSP!
For all three cards I die cut the image using the Scalloped Contours Dies as they are just the perfect size for these images. The sentiments are all from the “In the Moment” stamp set.
Each of these cards perfectly captures some of my favourite ways to relax. Enjoying my morning cup of coffee or tea as I look into my garden and listen to the birdsong. Savouring a glass of wine at the beach where I am lucky enough to live. Reading a book and enjoying a cuppa while snuggled up with my dog!
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Andrea Sargent – I can’t wait to see what Andrea has made this week!
