Welcome to week twenty three of our Art With Heart 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop! This week we are showcasing Flirty Flamingo, a bright pink colour from the brights family.
I’ve taken my colour combination inspiration this week from this gorgeous sheet of Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper. The colours in this sheet of DSP are Balmy Blue, Flirty Flamingo, Night of Navy and Basic White.
A fancy fold is often a wonderful way to use Designer Series Paper so I’ve created an Interlocking Accordion Card, following a template created by Lisa Curico from the USA.
You can find the instructions on how to make this card on Lisa’s YouTube channel and she also has a template with all the measurements here. I’ve used Lisa’s measurements, but made a totally different looking card by using a different DSP, different colours, different dies and not having any stamping on my card.
Here’s a short video to show you how this fancy fold opens up – for some reason the video is upside down and it won’t flip around for me tonight no matter how hard I try, however as there is no stamping on this card it’s not really a big deal.
This card also stands up for display really well – here’s what it looks like opened up for display.
Apart from adding a couple of leftover Paper Florist die cuts, I’ve left the first and last inside panels blank to allow room to stamp a sentiment on the first one and write a message to the recipient on the last panel.
Here’s what it looks like from above so you can see the way the inner card folds into and interlocks with the outer card.
The Countryside Corners dies were used to decorate the front of the card as well as to cut out the holes in the outside card so that the smaller inside card can thread through.
To match the colours in the DSP, I’ve used both the Countryside Corners Dies and the Paper Florist dies to die cut Balmy Blue, Flirty Flamingo and Night of Navy cardstock and decorate the front of the card.
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Tina Gillespie – I can’t wait to see what Tina has made this week!

Welcome to week twenty of our Art With Heart 2022-23 Colour Creations blog hop!
This is a weekly blog hop where we showcase the stunning range of Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order over 12 months and this week we are featuring Flirty Flamingo from the Brights family.
Tonight’s card features another new die set from the Perfect Partners Promotion – the Apple Blossom dies that coordinate with the Apple Harvest stamp set.
My slimline card was inspired by some of the design elements in this card that created by one of the amazing Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team members, Stesha Bloodhart in the USA.
Because I went away for a few nights over the weekend I’ve run out of time this week and made my card just before the blog went live tonight. I do apologise for the quality of photography as I had to photograph my card with overhead lights on.
The slimline Crumb Cake card base is topped with a white card stock layer that has been embossed with the Typeworn Type Embossing Folder before a dusting of Flirty Flamingo was added a blending brush.
The apple blossom flowers, leaves and stems are die cut from Basic White cardstock using the Apple Blossom dies and then coloured with Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Rachel Palmieri – I can’t wait to see what Rachel has made this week!

Week 16 – Flirty Flamingo
Week 16 brings us to Flirty Flamingo – a bright happy pink with a touch of orange in it. I tried to make a card using Flirty Flamingo with some of the blues but it just wasn’t working for me so I went back to the drawing board and started again with this colour combination.
Have you ever tried the split card technique? It’s a quick and easy way to create more cards in less time and it also gives your cards that lovely stamped off to the edge effect.
To create the split card technique you can either use die cut images adhered to a card stock layer or you can stamp directly onto your card stock. I’m doing the easiest version today – using stamped images from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set, but these co-ordinating Many Layered Blossoms dies would also work really well.
Begin by cutting an A4 sheet of Whisper White in half and then stamping the main image into the centre of the card stock. My large floral image was stamped in Flirty Flamingo, with just a few Pear Pizzaz leaves stamped around the flowers and Basic Black flower centres stamped in Tuxedo Memento.
This large floral stamp is ideal because it covers a large surface area with a single stamp and it’s a non-geometric floral image, which is easiest to work with using the split card technique.
To create two cards I simply cut my image in half and then decided how best to use each half . This photo shows you where I cut the image and how the two sides of the card stock line up.
For the happy birthday card I trimmed the stamped image to 9.5 x 13.8 cm before mounting it on a 10 x 14.2 cm Basic Black card stock layer. The card base is an A4 sheet of Flirty Flamingo card stock cut in half and then folded in half.
The Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped in versamark ink, before adding white embossing power, setting with a heat tool and die cutting using a Stitched Rectangle die.
I trimmed my second half of my stamped card stock to 10.5 x 10.5cm and rotated the image to the top of the card this time before mounting it onto a 11 x 11cm Basic Black card stock layer. The card base is an 11.5 x 11.5 cm square of Flirty Flamingo card stock.
The Thinking of You sentiment was stamped in versamark ink, before adding white embossing power, setting with a heat tool and die cutting using a different Stitched Rectangle die.
Like the Happy Birthday card this card was finished with a bow of Braided Linen Trim.
Just for fun I made a third card, creating my own DSP with the same colours as the other cards, but this time using the smaller stamps in the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set.
Those tiny black dots and the centres of the smaller flowers were created using my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. The smaller flowers are a lighter pink than the larger flowers because I stamped off the Flirty Flamingo ink once before stamping on the card stock.
Like the two split cards, my homemade DSP Happy birthday card was finished off with a bow of Braided Linen Trim and the sentiment created with heat embossing.

Welcome to week 16 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop!
This week we are showcasing one of the 2017-2019 in colours: Fresh Fig.
For my Fresh Fig card, I used some of the stunning Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper, which is Very Vanilla on one side and Whisper White on the other. I love both Very Vanilla and Whisper White with Fresh Fig but I decided to use the Whisper White for my card today.
I used the leaf punch to continue the leaf theme of the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper and then topped my card off with a little bird die cut from the Birds and Blooms thinlits. My little bird’s eye is a Rich Razzleberry pearl from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.
Gray Granite is rapidly becoming one of my most used neutral colours, and I’ve used it here along with Basic Black for my punched out leaves. Gray Granite is also is the colour of the braided linen trim, that I’ve used across the front of the card. The name of this ribbon can be a little confusing because the Stampin’ Up! linen thread is closer to Crumb Cake in colour, but this Braided Linen Trim is much closer to Gray Granite.

Welcome to week 16 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop!
This week we are showcasing one of the brights: Flirty Flamingo!
For my Flirty Flamingo card I’m using one of the loveliest stamp sets from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue: Wishing You Well. This stamp set can be used for Christmas cards, sympathy cards or even for “just a note” cards you might want to send to somebody for a variety of reasons.
Wishing You Well is a “distinctive” stamp set, which means it adds monochromatic dimension by creating different opacities in a single stamped image. This provides a realistic depth and intensity to the image and gives a lovely watercoloured look…without any of the hard work!
Although Flirty Flamingo is a bright colour, I love the look of it with one of the subtle colours: Pear Pizzaz.
I’ve added some bling to this card by using my Dark Flirty Flamingo Blender Pen to colour in some Clear Rhinestone Jewels.
The sentiment has been stamped and then layered using two punches. The Classic Label punch punched out the Whisper White layer onto which the sentiment was stamped onto, then I also punched out some Pear Pizzaz cardstock using the Pretty Label punch to add some more dimension. The photo below shows how I cut off the top and the bottom of the Pretty Label shape to make a long rounded rectangle shape.
I just love the soft watercolour look this distinctive stamp set gives…with very little work on my behalf!
