AWH Colour Creations Easter Bunny Stamp Baby Cards

AWH Colour Creations Easter Bunny Stamp Baby Cards

Welcome to week forty-seven of our Art With Heart 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop!

Our colour this week is Soft Sea Foam, a very soft green from the subtles family.

I had so much fun playing with the Easter Bunny Stamp set last week I’ve used again to make some baby cards I was asked to make for a baby girl called Charlotte and a baby boy called Morgan.

For Morgan’s card the bunny was coloured in using Crumb Cake light and dark Stampin’ Blends with light Petal Pink for his ears, nose and tummy.

I created a nesting barrel for the rabbit by using the largest of the stretched hexagon shape Nested Essentials Dies. The timber Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper was embossed using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder before die cutting with the Nested Essentials Dies.

Cut the die piece in half – you will now have two trapezoids. Then run through the Bigshot with the die on a side angle to create the barrel shape with a stitched edge that is the correct height fopr the bunny. Just be sure to only die cut the top edge of the barrel – don’t run the entire die through the Bigshot.

The grass on Morgan’s card was coloured using Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends.

His name was die cut from Basic White card stock using the online exclusive Mini Alphabet Dies, also coloured using Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends.

Charlotte’s card is a horizontal card (to fit the letters of her name on the card front) and it uses a mix of Bubble Bath and Soft Sea Foam.

I’ve added a few of the smallest Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the centre of the flowers for some added sparkle.

Both cards feature a twine bow as well as DSP layers with the Subtles 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper. This DSP, along with the retiring Easter Bunny Stamp Set and Easter Bunny punch, are all retiring soon.

I’ve added leftover strips of the DSP to the back of the envelope flaps.

And both cards have been stamped on the inside with two of the sentiments from the Charming Sentiments stamp set.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Kate Morgan. I can’t wait to see what Kate has made this week!

In Good Taste – Bronwyn’s Birthday Blog Hop

In Good Taste – Bronwyn’s Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to Bronwyn’s Birthday Blog hop!

We’re a group of stamping friends who are celebrating Bron’s 60th Birthday in 2022 with six blog hops, over six months, with six fun themes! This is our inspiration pic for tonight’s hop. Isn’t it a beauty!

The mix of soft neutrals with a touch of pink and the amazing texture on the basket in this inspiration photo inspired me to use the realistically textured “In Good Taste” DSP to create a home decor scene on my card.

Yes, it’s quite a “busy” card front, but as far as I’m concerned with house plants, more is definitely more! Do you agree?

My basket is die cut from In Good Taste DSP, using the bowl die from the Cookin’ dies with the leather handles made from the hinges in the Window flower box dies.

To create the gorgeous two-toned leaves for my Lady Valentine houseplant I stamped the large leaf stamps from the Plentiful Plants bundles in Soft Suede (stamped off) then coloured them in with Old Olive and Flirty Flamingo light Stampin’ Blends before die cutting.

The In Good Taste DSP is retiring soon and 50% off – I’ve just ordered another pack of this incredibly versatile DSP. A strip of the textured pink DSP creates a pink sisal carpet, and the darker wood tone DSP is die cut using long die from the Garden dies to add extra texture to the wood planks in my plant stand.

The background wood plank DSP is from the Heart & Home DSP (I thought this best matched the wood planks in the inspo photo) with the items on the plant stand stamped and die cut using the following products:

  • Stack of books – Make It Happen stamp set
  • Jug and floral pots – Welcoming Window stamp set & Window flower box dies
  • White pot and plant – Perfect Plants dies

The “Happy Birthday” sign is die cut using the stitched rectangle dies and hung on a Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dot.

Although this is a busy home decor scene, all the plants and the natural textures make me feel calm and happy. I hope my card puts a smile on your face too!

Next up on Bronwyn’s Birthday Blog hop is Sharon Dalton – I can’t wait to see what Sharon has created.

I’ll be back on Wednesday night with the AWH Colour Creations team, where we will be showcasing Smoky Slate.

Pacific Point Welcoming Windows Bundle – AWH Colour Creations

Pacific Point Welcoming Windows Bundle – AWH Colour Creations

Welcome to week 33 of our 2021-22 Colour Creations blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing Pacific Point from the Brights family.

Pacific Point is a vibrant bright blue that always reminds me of those iconic traditional Greek houses so I decided to create a little Greek scene using the Welcoming Windows bundle.

I’m trying to step out of my comfort zone when I craft so instead of layering this card neatly, I sewed the top layer to the middle layer of Crumb Cake card stock using the linen thread. I also roughed up the edges of the top stamped layer using my paper smips.

How adorable is this bicycle die! It is from the Tulip Fields Bundle, which includes the Tulip Fields Stamp Set and the Windmill Fields Dies.

The sentiment was also chopped up using my paper snips to give it a messier, less geometric look.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Andrea Sargent– I can’t wait to see what Andrea has made this week!

Stampin’ Up! Delivering Cheer & Welcoming Windows Christmas Card

Stampin’ Up! Delivering Cheer & Welcoming Windows Christmas Card

Hello crafters! Welcome to Week 19 of our AWH Heart of Christmas blog hop.

This week I’m combing a new stamp set and bundle that both work so perfectly together to create a Christmas scene card: the Welcoming Window bundle and the Delivering Cheer stamp set. I love the idea of this girl turning up to the front door with so many presents in her arms you can’t even see her face!

There is no door image in the Welcoming Window bundle, however the shutter stamped side-by-side six times creates a door that is the correct scale for the girl with the presents. I love a big solid front door like this!

The brickwork for the outside of the house is simply the Bricks and Mortar EF that has been swiped with the Crumb Cake ink pad (on the inside top side) before embossing a piece of Basic White cardstock.

This isn’t a quick card to make but it is relaxing (well, I think so!) to colour it all in and fussy cut the elements in this card using my Stampin’ Blends.

The shutter “hinge” dies from the Window Flower Box Dies were used with the Brushed Metallic adhesive-backed dots to create a door handle.

Red Rhinestone jewels decorate the Christmas trees in pots that sit either side of the front door. The pots are from the Welcoming Windows stampset but the Christmas Trees are the top section of another stamp in the Delivering Cheer stamp set.

The sentiment is from an older Christmas stamp set, the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set. I just had to use this sentiment as it perfectly describes my Christmas scene!

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Ros Davidson. I can’t wait to see what she shares with us today!

If at any time you find a broken link please head to the blog of this week’s host of The Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop, Sharon Davern, and she will have the list of all those participating.

Sketch Challenge AWH Creative Showcase

Sketch Challenge AWH Creative Showcase

Welcome to the Monthly Art With Heart Creative Showcase.

Tonight we’re sharing some ideas for projects inspired by a card sketch. I’ve never actually participated in a card sketch challenge before but wow, I had so much fun making my card. I love how easy it is to create when someone else has done all the hard work for you in terms of thinking about the design and layout of your card! Thanks Rachel!

The Welcoming Window bundle was a bundle that had been on my wish list since I first saw the January – June mini catalogue and after months of deliberation it sort of “accidentally” fell into my shopping cart when I was placing an order last month. Whoops! Anyway, I must have known it would be just what I needed for this sketch challenge.

I’m always drawn to stamp sets and dies with architectural features – I think it’s because of the incredible dolls house my dad made for me when I was a child. It was my favourite toy ever!

These Window Flower Box Dies are so cute – I’ve only used the embossed window sills and the dies that cut out the flowers and the pots on this card but there are also windows, shutters and hinges.

Apart from the architectural details of this bundle, I just had to have this bundle for this sentiment: “Wishing our paths crossed a little more often” – isn’t that just wonderful? It’s how I feel about a lot of my friends.

The Bricks & Mortar embossing folder was the perfect background to place my window sills on. It gives a wonderful realistic texture. If you don’t have this embossing folder you can use the brick stamp set from this bundle to stamp the background.

Can you also see how the window sill dies emboss as well as cut – all at the same time!

I could have used any colour for the flowers and the sweet little flower pots but I went with two of my favourite In Colours: Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight. Olive Green is my go to green for foliage and leaves – I really use this colour like a neutral.

The sentiment is die cut with a stitched rectangle die – to get one long enough I had to use a die that was too wide so I die cut it again, using the long edge of the die to make it the right size for the sentiment.

To finish my card off I simply added a bow of linen thread under some of the flowers.

To see more sketch inspiration from the AWH Team head back to Rachel’s page as she is hosting our monthly blog hops.
