Welcome to week 45 of our 2021-22 Colour Creations blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing Soft Sea Foam from the Subtles family.
This very pale green is combined with Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent in the striped paper in the soon to be retired and currently half price ($10) Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper. This monotone striped paper (top right sheet in the photo below) inspired the colour combination for my card today.
Did you know there are actually several variety of green pansies in real life? Regardless, I still would have still made green pansies as I love taking a bit of artistic licence when making my cards.
This Basic Border die provides a lovely scalloped and stitched edge to the Basic White layer and the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels (also retiring soon) add a touch of bling to the centre of my pansies.
I just love how these Pansy dies add so much texture at the same as they die cut the flowers out.
The sentiments in the Pansy Patch Stamp Set have the most delightful mix of fonts – I’m so happy these Pansy dies and the Pansy Patch Stamp Set are both carrying over to the new annual catalogue.
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Diane– I can’t wait to see what Di has made this week!

Welcome to week 44 of our 2021-22 Colour Creations blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing So Saffron from the Subtles family.
As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator we get to see and order from the new catalogue early, so when my 2022-23 annual Catalogue preorder turned up this week I couldn’t resist giving you a sneak peek one of one of the new products. The Happiness Abounds bundle includes the Happiness Abounds stamp set and the Blossoming Happiness dies.
This gorgeous bundle is part of the Hues of Happiness suite collection featured on the front cover of the new catalogue. It comes with the most stunning DSP with images that you can die cut using the Blossoming Happiness dies.
My card uses the Happiness Abounds bundle, with images coloured using my So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.
My yellow rose sits on a layer of Basic White cardstock die cut using one of the scalloped contour dies and a piece of Subtles 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper, on sale now for 50% off as it is retiring soon.
Isn’t this “happy birthday” sentiment just gorgeous?
I love the different depths of yellow that can be achieved by using the So Saffron and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
The Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels add just a touch of bling.
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Caroline Manwaring – I can’t wait to see what Caroline has made this week!

Welcome to week 43 of our 2021-22 Colour Creations blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing Smoky Slate from the Neutrals family.
This gorgeous Symbols of Fortune Designer Series paper is so stunning I wanted to make a card that allowed me to showcase the 6 foiled sides that also feature Smoky Slate.
A screen card is the perfect type of fancy fold for this Asian-inspired DSP, so I designed a screen card using an A4 sheet of Smoky Slate cardstock, making it narrow enough to fit inside one of the new Slimline Envelopes.
To make the card base, trim 2.8 cm off the end of a piece of A4 card stock, then score and fold the cardstock at 9 cm and 18 cm. Cut 6 foil layers measuring 8.5 x 19 cm and adhere to both sides of the cardstock base as shown below. I didn’t have enough gold foil so I used silver foil instead.
To make the “feet” of the screen card I used the Label Me Lovely punch. Fold the card up and punch through all three layers at once so the feet align when the card is folded flat.
The DSP screen fronts measure 8 x 18.5 cm – there are 6 foiled patterns in the Symbols of Fortune DSP, so I used one of each design. This is the reverse side of the card – if you wanted somewhere to write a message you could add a panel of plain white cardstock to this side of the card.
The “happy birthday” sentiment is from Celebrate With flowers, stamped in Smoky Slate and die cut using the Ornate Layers dies.
I love how this vertical sentiment and the proportions of the Ornate Layer die both perfectly match the dimensions of this slimline card!
A scrap piece of Basic White cardstock was die cut using the same Ornate Layers die to create a matching address label for the front of the slimline card.
This fancy fold is a wonderful card design to send to someone who likes to display their cards as it stands up very well – it really does look like a mini screen!

We’re a group of stamping friends who are celebrating Bron’s 60th Birthday in 2022 with six blog hops, over six months, with six fun themes! This is our inspiration pic for tonight’s hop. Isn’t it a beauty!
The mix of soft neutrals with a touch of pink and the amazing texture on the basket in this inspiration photo inspired me to use the realistically textured “In Good Taste” DSP to create a home decor scene on my card.
Yes, it’s quite a “busy” card front, but as far as I’m concerned with house plants, more is definitely more! Do you agree?
My basket is die cut from In Good Taste DSP, using the bowl die from the Cookin’ dies with the leather handles made from the hinges in the Window flower box dies.
To create the gorgeous two-toned leaves for my Lady Valentine houseplant I stamped the large leaf stamps from the Plentiful Plants bundles in Soft Suede (stamped off) then coloured them in with Old Olive and Flirty Flamingo light Stampin’ Blends before die cutting.
The In Good Taste DSP is retiring soon and 50% off – I’ve just ordered another pack of this incredibly versatile DSP. A strip of the textured pink DSP creates a pink sisal carpet, and the darker wood tone DSP is die cut using long die from the Garden dies to add extra texture to the wood planks in my plant stand.
The background wood plank DSP is from the Heart & Home DSP (I thought this best matched the wood planks in the inspo photo) with the items on the plant stand stamped and die cut using the following products:
Stack of books – Make It Happen stamp set
Jug and floral pots – Welcoming Window stamp set & Window flower box dies
White pot and plant – Perfect Plants dies
The “Happy Birthday” sign is die cut using the stitched rectangle dies and hung on a Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dot.
Although this is a busy home decor scene, all the plants and the natural textures make me feel calm and happy. I hope my card puts a smile on your face too!
Next up on Bronwyn’s Birthday Blog hop is Sharon Dalton – I can’t wait to see what Sharon has created.
I’ll be back on Wednesday night with the AWH Colour Creations team, where we will be showcasing Smoky Slate.
In the meantime, wherever you are in the world, stay safe, stay calm…and keep on crafting xxx
Welcome to week 42 of our 2021-22 Colour Creations blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing Shaded Spruce from the Regals family.
Have you ever looked at the index of bundles at the back of the Stampin’ Up! catalogues? They are filled with some wonderful card ideas and I often forget to look at them, but this week I’ve CASED the Cactus Cuties bundle card from the back of the January – June Mini Catalogue. I loved the way the background had been created using strips of DSP and cardstock, as well as the fresh vibrant mix of greens and pinks. This is the colour combination I’ve used for my card.
To make the striped background I simply layered 3/4 inch strips of DSP and card stock onto a card base covered in Stampin’ Seal. Both DSP patterns are from the Pattern Party DSP and the strips of cardstock are Shaded Spruce, Just Jade, Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo.
My cactus layer is a mix of stamping directly onto the Basic White layer, stamping and fussy cutting or using the Cactus builder punch to punch out the shapes. I love the slightly retro feel of the images, type fonts and shapes in the Cactus Cuties bundle…for me it evokes those mid-century houses in LA with their incredible cactus gardens.
This is such a fun and versatile bundle for making both male and female cards using all kinds of colours. I’ve stamped the cactus on the left in Mint Macaron with Blushing Bride flowers and popped it into a punched out Shaded Spruce pot. The cactus on the right is stamped in Shaded Spruce and punched out with a Flirty Flamingo pot that is fussy cut using Paper Snips.
The “Just a Note” sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and a few “Sequins for Everything” add a touch of sparkle to my Cactus Cuties card.
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Kate Morgan – I can’t wait to see what Kate has made this week!
