Welcome to week six of our 2020-2021 Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase.
Each week various members of our Art With Heart Colour Creations team will be bringing you weekly colour inspiration as we showcase our range of over 50 beautiful Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.
Week 11 – Coastal Cabana
Coastal Cabana is one of the brights and such a happy colour – exactly what we all need in our world right now! Today I’ve paired it with Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Whisper White to create two watercolour scenes.
I’ve used a beautiful stamp set called Seaside View that I gave to my “crafting partner in crime” (AKA known as Jenny Boffey!) as part of her birthday present last week.
I then immediately borrowed it back from her to make my Coastal Cabana Cards!
I stamped my seaside images using Black Stazon ink onto Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper and then used my smallest water painter brush to lift ink off the lids of the my ink pads and water colour my scenes.
The sentiments are also from the Seaside View stamp set but I stamped them with the Saddle Brown Stazon ink – I love this colour and I think it looks great with Soft Suede.
The background layer for my “Take Time for Yourself” card is die cut using the largest Ornate Layer die and the other layers are cut using the stitched rectangle dies.
Card two also uses the largest Ornate Layer die but it was too big for the notecard base so I trimmed the edge off the die and uses it as a lace detail at the top and the base of my card.
Don’t you love it when you already have the matching prop for a photo shoot? I found these miniature chairs at an op shop several years ago – they are so cute and just perfect for this Coastal Cabana seaside card!
Both cards are finished off with a bow of linen thread.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Art With Heart team have created with Coastal Cabana today. Click on the links below to see what they’ve made.

If only we could go on a tropical holiday!. Your colouring is just beautiful and that deck chair prop is so cute
We love a mid-winter escape to the beach. Rugged up in scarves & beanies, walking miles along the beach in wind and often rain. Oh what we would give for a face full of sea spray now!!
Lovely cards – lovely thoughts of what we have to look forward to.
Beautiful cards Cathy. I love your water-colouring and your choice of colours is just right. Great layering too and a brilliant showcasing of Coastal Cabana. xxx
Oh yes, I would love to be enjoying those views and relaxing, somewhere a little warmer! Your colouring is beautifully done.
Beautiful colouring and your prop, looks wonderful with the cards.
I just love these cards Catherine. You have done justice to this beautiful stamp set with your gorgeous colouring. And those little chair props are so cute!
You’ve got me dreaming of a tropical holiday Cathy……if only we could go!
I always skip right over sets like Seaside View because to me, colouring is like pulling teeth. I so admire your beautiful colouring Catherine and your colour palette is divine. Oh how I wish we could sit on a comfy chair on the beach. One of the first things we are doing when we get out and about again.
Wow Cath, these are amazing. Love your colouring and those little wooden deck chairs are SO cute!! I suddenly NEED this stamp set!
Wow, beautiful cards Cathy, I like everyone else need that Holiday now somewhere in the Sunshine.
A gorgeous pair of cards, and a couple of views that I would dearly love to be admiring now! I love the way you’ve framed the scenes Cathy.
Oh I love your prop that is colour coordinated with your card! Your cards are beautifully coloured and I love your layering as well and the colours that you have chosen. I would be relaxed if I were sitting in that scene!
Wow, I never would have thought to pair Coastal Cabana with Soft Suede, but they look amazing together! Your colouring is fabulous, and I agree with Vicki – I want a holiday now! LOL!
Always so happy to share my craft supplies with my bestie! The finished products are just gorgeous Cath. Honoured to be your crafting partner in crime
Beautiful cards Cathy, I can’t believe we’ve used the same set again. I love your colour combo and the use of the Ornate Dies.
Beautiful colouring and layering, Cathy. I love the colours you’ve put together on these cards – even “Old Oliver” 😉 . The scenes are so serene, and yes, those tiny chairs at the perfect props!
Christine you make me laugh – thank you for pointing out my typo! I actually quite like the name “Old Oliver” – it sounds like something out of a Dickens’ novel, LOL!
Your cards make me want to go on a holiday, Cathy! Beautiful water colouring and colours. Stunning cards.
