Welcome to week eight of the 2019 Heart of Christmas blog hop!
This week I’m so excited because I got to play with 3 new products.
Stampin’ Up! have a new trimmer (only available to demonstrators at this stage) and I received mine yesterday. Here’s a sneak peek. I’ll let you know as soon as it becomes available to customers.
The second new product I used was the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks from page 35 of the Holiday catalogue. These masks are only $10 for a set of 4 and they are super versatile. You can use them with embossing paste or as a stencil, like I have today. Here’s a closer look at the 4 patterns you get in the pack.
The third new product I played with was the Snowball Accents puff paint – boy it is fun to play with. It kind of looks like PVA glue when you apply it and then once you heat it with your heat tool it puffs up like magic! As you can see on my card below, I went a bit berserk with it, but how much dimension does it add to my card!
I created my trees by sponging Gray Granite onto Whisper White card stock, using the tree mask. I love the simple graphic linocut effect this gives my card.
Texture and dimension was added with the Snowball Accents puff paint and red Rhinestones, before I adhered Real Red card stock deer die cut using the Detailed Deer thinlits and my “Happy Holidays” sentiment from the Dashing Deer stamp set.
The lovely Tina Gillespie is hosting our Heart of Christmas blog hop this week – to see what the rest of the team have made this week you can visit Tina’s page here.
To purchase any of the products I used in this project you can shop with me here.

Wow, what a great idea. I love the puff paint on the branches.
Stunning card Catherine. The colour scheme and paired back design are so visually appealing.
Wow, I love the use of the decorative mask for the trees with those cute reindeer in the foreground and the puff paint is super cool and fun to play with!
Cathy you come up with the best ideas, I love your snowy trees what a great way to use the stencils. The puff paint looks so good on them. Fantastic card! Love it!
Cute card, Catherine. The puff paint really gives the trees pop.
Oh my gosh, I totally love this unique use of product. So gorgeous!
Your card is so cool! I hadn’t paid much attention to those masks, but I really love the tree one that you’ve used. The puff paint looks fabulous as snow on the branches!
I love your snowy forest and sweet reindeers Catherine. A great background using the stencil masks too. I am loving your white cards with red accents these past weeks.
