Hello fellow crafters, it’s time for some weekly “Heart of Christmas” Christmas card inspiration with the Art with Heart Team.
This week I’ve focused on the gorgeous little boxwood wreath embellishments and the Be Merry Designer Series Paper, which co-ordinates with the Merry Mistletoe stamp set. The colours in this paper are the very traditional Christmas colours of garden green, cherry cobbler and whisper white.
Because the background design of this card is quite simple, I added dimension and interest by attaching one of the lovely boxwood wreaths to the sentiment with a simple bow made out of 1/8 inch sheer ribbon in whisper white. The sentiment is from the Merry Mistletoe stamp set and stamped in whisper white onto cherry cobbler card stock, finished off with some white perfect accents. I always use the sponge daubers to apply whisper white to my stamps.
Here’s a close up of the gorgeous little wreath.
There are so many variations that would work equally well with this design. You could use any combination of this DSP for the background as the papers all coordinate. The sentiment would look beautiful if it was heat embossed, and the wreath could be tied on with linen thread, whisper white bakers twine or some of the silver or gold 1/8 inch ribbon.
I’m so excited that I’ve already made 6 Christmas cards…and it’s still only the start of July!
Which one do you like best so far?

I’m really enjoying participating in The Heart of Christmas, a weekly blog bringing you Handmade Christmas Inspiration from the Art With Heart Team.
Every Wednesday morning we post some Christmas card inspiration using products from the new 2017/2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue, and very soon we’ll also be using products from the 2017 Holiday Catalogue (available for sale in September).
I love using multiple stamps sets on a card, as well as using non-Christmas sets for Christmas cards.
The little girl in the Birthday Delivery Stamp set is supposed to be holding a bunch of flowers or a present, but the teddy from the Santa’s Sleigh Set is also the perfect size for her to hold.
I could just picture her not wanting to go to bed on Christmas Eve, holding her teddy as she looks out the window, waiting for Santa to arrive.
Or standing under the mistletoe, waiting to be kissed.
I’ve stamped the little girl in crumb cake on whisper white card stock, then cut her out using the Birthday Friends Framelit. Her teddy was stamped with crumb cake on crumb cake card stock then cut out with the matching Santa’s Sleigh Framelit. The red bow was stamped in real red on real red card stock and cut out with the matching Santa’s Sleigh Framelit.
To assemble the card, I layered a mat of real red on a whisper white card, then topped with a crumb cake mat. I stamped the mistletoe stamp from the Merry Mistletoe stamp set (see image on left) in crumb cake onto the crumb cake mat.
I topped the mistletoe with a linen thread bow behind the red bow and topped with a rhinestone jewel. The little girl and her teddy are also mounted with Stampin’ Up! dimensionals and I cut out the sentiment with the modern window punch.

Even though it’s still 25 weeks until Christmas, I’m taking part in The Heart of Christmas, a weekly blog bringing you Handmade Christmas Inspiration from the Art With Heart Team.

“Merry Mistletoe” Card
As soon as I saw this stamp set in the new annual catalogue I knew I just had to have it. I loved every single stamp in the the set, including the sentiments, the fonts, the tree, the mistletoe, but most of all…I fell in love with that reindeer.
So you can only imagine just how I excited I was when I discovered there was matching DSP paper for the reindeer in the Be Merry Designer Series Paper–see the paper on the far right in the photo below. It is exactly the same image as the reindeer stamp!
For my Merry Mistletoe card I’ve simply stamped the reindeer stamp onto real red card stock using red red and whisper white ink. I’ve used a small strip of the Be Merry paper so it looks like washi tape and finished it off with some of the new silver 1/8 inch ribbon.
The final touch is part of a sentiment from the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set punched out with the classic punch and a clear faceted gem on my gorgeous white reindeer.
