Welcome to week thirty-six of our Art With Heart 2023-24 Colour Creations blog hop!
Our colour this week is Old Olive, from the Regals family. I always think of Old Olive as more of a neutral – it is my most used green as it really works well with so many other colours.
Both cards use two new stamp sets from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue which you can earn for FREE when you place any order over $90AUD: the Heartfelt Hello sentiment stamp set and the Watercolor Watermelon stamp set.
For Card one I’ve combined Old Olive with Melon Mambo, but you could use any combination of red/pink and green ink to create these sweet watermelons. This card was originally inspired by a slimline card that Peggy Noe of Pretty Paper Cards shared on Pinterest, however I’ve changed the colours, the layout, the card base shape and I’ve added a sentiment .
I originally stamped the whole watermelon onto Basic White card stock (see it above the card in the photo below) but it didn’t stand out enough against the Old Olive leaves on the layer behind so I stamped the watermelon in Old Olive onto Old Olive card stock instead.
The whole watermelon and the watermelon wedges are designed to be punched out by the Modern Oval Punch – so clever!
Card two uses the simple but always so effective design trick of repetition. Eight watermelon slices have been stamped and punched out then glued to the card front around the stamped “hello” sentiment.
This “hello” sentiment on both cards is stamped in Memento Basic Black Ink.
A simple stamped Old Olive leaf dresses the envelope.
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Andrea Sargent – I can’t wait to see what Andrea has made this week!

Welcome to week thirty three of our Art With Heart 2022-23 Colour Creations blog hop, our last hop for this year before we take a two week break over Christmas and New Year.
This is a weekly blog hop where we showcase the stunning range of Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order over 12 months and this week we are featuring Old Olive from the Regals family.
Who’s ready for a sneak peek of some items from the new Mini Catalogue and SALE-a-bration Catalogue?
I’m excited to share with you three cards made using a stunning new SALE-a-bration DSP that will be available in just a few week’s time.
The Dainty Flowers DSP has been hand water coloured and it will be free to redeem with any order of $90 or over from January 5, 2023.
Photos don’t really do justice to just how beautiful this DSP is in real life. The water coloured floral pattern I’ve used for all three cards actually looks like it has been embossed!!
For the sentiments on all three cards, I stamped them in Versamark onto Old Olive cardstock and then heat embossed the sentiments with white emboss powder.
The “Love you” sentiment is from another forthcoming SALE-a-bration item, the Thanks A Bunch stamp set.
The “Thank You” and “Sending Happy Thoughts” sentiments are from yet another forthcoming SALE-a-bration stamp set, Beautifully Happy.
All three cards have a Crumb Cake cardstock base and the only embellishment is some linen thread.
After all, with Designer Series Paper this beautiful, you really don’t need to do much at all!
Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Kate Morgan – I can’t wait to see what Kate has made this week!
If at any time you find a broken link, you can find the complete list of all participants below.
Welcome back to our Colour Creations Showcase as we continue our showcase of over 50 beautiful Stampin’ Up! colours in alpha order. This week we are showcasing Old Olive, a fabulous green that is so versatile I actually use it like a neutral because it really pairs extremely well with any colour you combine it with.
For my cards today I’ve used elements from a brand new all inclusive card kit called Hello Dear Friend. Earlier this week I shared some other cards I made using the Hello Dear Friend Card Kit and today I have three more to share with you.
These three cards were inspired by one of the smaller card designs from the Hello Dear Friend Card Kit.
I loved how the stripes looked behind the yellow rose on this card, so I decided to pair the leftover die cuts with the black and white striped paper from the True Love Designer Series Paper.
You get everything you need in this kit to create 12 cards with matching envelopes…but you can make plenty more with this kit using the leftover die cuts and the stamp set, acrylic block and ink spot that are all included in the kit.
Because I used the leftover rose and leaf die cuts from this card kit with the black and white True Love Designer Series paper (both from the new January to June Mini Catalogue) my colour combination is Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Basic Black and Whisper White.
On my first card I intended to make a wreath with the die cut elements but halfway through adhering the die cuts around the sentiment I decided to create a spray of flowers instead.
By creating a spray instead of a wreath I had plenty room to add a bow of the black and white twine from the Playful Pets trim combo pack.
It also meant I now had some extra die cuts left over that I could use to create a thank you card .
This time I ran the DSP through my subtle embossing folder – it’s hard to see in this photo but it adds such a lovely texture in real life.
You might have noticed the stamped panel behind the “thank you” sentiment on the card above? It’s actually an off cut I didn’t want to waste after stamping the front panel for my third card below.
I stamped this panel using just two of the stamps in the stamp set included in this card kit. Here’s a close up of the stamps you get in this set as the photo of them in the catalogue is very small.
Running this stamped layer through the subtle embossing folder made all the difference to this card. All I had to do was add a bow of the Playful Pets bakers twine and die cut the “Just a Little note” sentiment using one of the Tasteful Label Dies before attaching to my card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Welcome to week 33 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop!
Our colour this week is probably my go-to green: Old Olive.
I just can’t seem to stop using these stitched rectangle framelits at the moment…I think I have an addiction!! I’ve just counted and realised I’ve used 5 different sizes in my card below.
The stamp set is so stunning and its one of the host sets from the annual catalogue, called Very Vintage, I love this set because it has 5 great sentiments in different fonts, a stamp that matches the Darling Label punch, the cutest little bee stamp and the stunning floral stamp I’ve used on my card today!
The colour combination is so simple…Old olive and Very Vanilla. My default neutral is always Whisper White but Very Vanilla works better for shabby chic/vintage style designs and Old Olive looks great with either colour.
If you take a close look at my photos you’ll be able to see the adhesive strips I’ve used to lift up my frame and the happy birthday sentiment. The frame is so easy to make with the stitched rectangles because the stitching is on both sides of the die.
And take a closer look at the lovely Old Olive linen thread!
