Welcome to week twenty of our Art With Heart 2024-25 Colour Creations blog hop!
This week we’re featuring Crumb Cake, probably my favourite Stampin’ Up colour as I consider it to be the perfect neutral.
I couldn’t resist making another Christmas card for this week, using a stand alone stamp set that was the very first product to catch my eye in the 2024 Holiday Catalogue: Yuletide Village.
I’ve deliberately kept my colour scheme very neutral with a lot of white as Crumb Cake is often the bridesmaid to other colours.
The original inspiration for this card came from a beautiful card created by a US Stampin’ Up! demonstrator called Sharon Williams Bardsley.
I’ve used the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder for the Basic White cardstock layer and the beautiful Crumb Cake and white DSP design from the Nests of Winter DSP, die cut using the arched frame from the Garden Meadow dies.
The white trees behind the buildings are die cut with the Frosted Forest dies, while the green trees are stamps from the Yuletide Village stamp set, coloured with Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut.
All of the buildings are coloured using light and dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends, with a touch of Pecan Pie on the church.
I’ve trimmed the word “love” from the sentiment and added five Earth Tones Shimmer Gems to complete the card.
Now it’s time to hop in over to our next participant, the lovely Amie McIllroy – I can’t wait to see what Amie has made this week!
If at any time you find a broken link, you can find the complete list of all participants below.
Catherine Proctor – you are here!
The AWH Colour Creations team will be back next Wednesday 19th September, showcasing Crushed Curry or you can join us on Monday night for some more Christmas inspiration.
I hope you can join us then!
Hi Cathy, I am Karen Skeens and I sent you an email about this beautiful card. I would like to purchase it if you have one or would you make one for me to buy. I am so in love with this card. I want to frame it for my book shelf. Please let me know.
Gorgeous! Cathy, that DSP is stunning for the arch layer. The snowflake dry embossing sets the scene and those little buildings and die cut trees complete it. Just beautiful!
Gorgeous card Cathy, Crumb Cake has been featured beautifully. Such a beautiful, serene village!
So beautiful in these neutral tones Cathy. It seems funny that i didn’t recognise the arch from Garden Meadow, i love the look of it.
Wow, another fabulous card, Cathy. Love the scene you’ve created in the neutral tones. Just delightful!
Gorgeous!
*Sigh* … this is so beautiful, Cath. The DSP is a beautiful complement to the bare-branched trees, and I love how perfectly the die-cut arch shape anchors everything. Crumb Cake and white – perfection!
