Today I’m farewelling the Magnolia Blooms stamp set, a stamp set you might have overlooked because it was released in the beginners catalogue.
I created two cards using the same hand made designer series paper technique and I love how they both turned out.
Home made designer series paper is easy to do and so much fun if you love to colour in. I started with half an A4 sheet of shimmery white card stock (because I knew I was going to use my aqua painter) and stamped all over it with the two flower stamps and the little leaf. I start by stamping the largest image first and then filled in the gaps with the smaller stamps.
Next I used my Old Olive and Rich Razzelberry Watercolour pencils to colour in the images and then I used my aqua painter to blend out the colour.
Step three is to cut the paper in half again before using the dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blend pen to colour in around the images on one of the halves. I carefully outlined each image first using my Basic Black Blend pen before filling in the white space.
To make my cards I used large Memories and More card bases, mounting the black floral pattern onto some Rich Razzleberry card stock first. The “happy Birthday” sentiment is from a brand new stamp set called Blossoms in Bloom – it will be available to purchase June 3 when the new Annual catalogue goers live.
And here’s the other card design using the white floral design layered onto some Basic Black card stock.
This stamp set co-ordinates beautifully with the Good Morning Magnolia stamp, which is not retiring, so if you love magnolias make sure you don’t miss out securing the Magnolia Blooms before it retires on June 2.
Tomorrow I will be sharing some more cards with you, but in the meantime you can view all the retiring products in my online shop.
