Evening Evergreen Fern Embossing Folder Card – Week 19 AWH Colour Creations

Evening Evergreen Fern Embossing Folder Card – Week 19 AWH Colour Creations

Welcome to week nineteen of our Art With Heart 2022-23 Colour Creations blog hop!

This is a weekly blog hop where we showcase the stunning range of Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order over 12 months and this week we are featuring Evening Evergreen, a very dark and dramatic 2021-2023 In Colour.

Because Evening Evergreen is the darkest of Stampin’ Up! greens I thought I would try pairing it with the brightest of Stampin’ Up! greens – Parakeet Party – and I’ve decided I really love this colour combination!

The embossed layer couldn’t be simpler. After embossing Basic White card stock with the Fern 3D Embossing folder use blending brushes to add Evening Evergreen and Parakeet Party ink to the ferns.

I trimmed the embossed layer to 9.5 x 13.8cm, adhered it to a Parakeet Party 10 x 14.3cm cardstock layer and then adhered both of these layers to a a 10.5 x 14.8 cm Evening Evergreen layer – half a A4 sheet of cardstock.

The “Sending” layered die is from the Sending Dies. The secret to success with using a layering word die like this is to add an adhesive sheet behind the cardstock BEFORE you die cut the word out. It turns your die into a sticker that you can easily reposition to get it perfectly aligned.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Tina Gillespie – I can’t wait to see what Tina has made this week!

Stampin’ Up! Grove Dies & Lights Aglow DSP Christmas Card

Stampin’ Up! Grove Dies & Lights Aglow DSP Christmas Card

Welcome to week ten of the Heart Of Christmas Blog Hop!

How dark is too dark when it comes to Christmas cards? I’ve gone super dark this week – I actually intended to make a white and blue card so I’m not quite sure how I ended up with a card this dark!

My mum kindly lent me the Grassy Grove bundle last week and I’ve had so much fun playing with it, combining it with the gorgeous Lights Aglow DSP and gold foil for this elegant Christmas card.

The deer are die cut in gold foil to pick up the gorgeous gold starry night in the Lights Aglow DSP.

I’ve used the “Magic is in the Air” sentiment from the Christmas to Remember stamp set because this forest scene looks quite magical to me with the gold stars glimmering in the dark night sky.

Inside the card I’ve used left over Lights Aglow DSP to decorate the insert. Normally I would use white, however white felt too stark against the black as there is no white on the front of the card, so I used Smoky Slate cardstock instead as there is some dark grey in the Lights Aglow DSP.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Andrea Sargent – I can’t wait to see what Andrea has created today!

If at any time you find a broken link, you can find the complete list of all participants on Sharon’s blog.

Stampin’ Up September 2022 Update

Stampin’ Up September 2022 Update

Spring has sprung…although you wouldn’t know it with the weather we are experiencing here in Sydney. Although the weather doesn’t really excite me, luckily these Stampin’ Up! specials and new products certainly do!

September Weekly Deals

Every week in the month of September Stampin’ Up! are offering a selection of discounted products for that week only.

There are 12 items on special this week – you can take a look at them here in my online store.

There will be three more rounds of weekly specials that begin on 8, 15, and 22 September, so don’t forget to check the Stampin’ Up! website each week to see what’s on offer.

Perfect Partners Promotion

Stampin’ Up! have created six new dies that coordinate with stamp sets in the 2022–2023 Annual Catalogue and the July–December 2022 Mini Catalogue.

These coordinating dies will only be available during September and are available separately or as a bundle, saving 10% off the retail price. You can see all of the new dies in my online store.

This is a card I’ve created using the new Tree Trimmings dies that coordinate with the Trimming the Tree Stamp Set from the annual catalogue. I love all of the detail these dies add.

If you have any questions about these special offers, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

I’ll be back tonight with some more Christmas inspiration.

Bronwyn’s Birthday Blog Hop #6 – Tropical Holiday

Bronwyn’s Birthday Blog Hop #6 – Tropical Holiday

Welcome to Bronwyn’s sixth Birthday Blog hop! You might have come to my blog from Vicki Arrowsmith.

We’re a group of stamping friends who are celebrating Bron’s 60th Birthday in 2022 with six blog hops, over six months, with six fun themes! Tonight is our final blog hop and it’s also Bronwyn’s actual birthday. The theme for our cards is “Tropical Holiday” because Bronwyn is relaxing right now on a tropical holiday in the location of our header image below – Port Douglas!

I intended to create a lush card full of greens and vibrant pinks but ended up with a totally different colour scheme. Hopefully it still conveys the relaxing feel of a tropical holiday even though there is not a single green leaf on the card!

For the vibrant tropical sky I’ve used the amazing “Rays of Light” background stamp – I love this stamp and I seem to be reaching for it all the time at the moment. The image of the woman with the sun hat and glass of wine is from the “In The Moment” stamp set. I’ve also used the Paradise Palms stamp set.

To layer the woman with the sun hat and glass of wine over the top, I stamped in Stazon onto a window sheet. You could just as easily stamp directly onto the stamped background as well. I was going to colour in the stamped image of the woman, but in the end I decided to go with a monochrome colour scheme instead.

The palm trees and grass are die cut using the Palms dies and the clouds are die cut using the Give it a Whirl dies. I love combining different Stampin’ Up! products to create scenes.

The sentiments on the front and the inside of the card and the palm trees on the inside are from Paradise Palms Stamp Set that coordinates with the Palms Dies.

Next up on Bronwyn’s Birthday Blog hop is Jan McQueen. I can’t wait to see what Jan has created today!

Here’s the full list of participants in the Blog Hop – hop along to be inspired by what everyone has created.

Early Espresso Christmas Pines Card – Week 18 AWH Colour Creations

Early Espresso Christmas Pines Card – Week 18 AWH Colour Creations

Welcome to week eighteen of our Art With Heart 2022-23 Colour Creations blog hop!

This is a weekly blog hop where we showcase the stunning range of Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order over 12 months and this week we are featuring Early Espresso, the darkest of our neutrals family.

Early Espresso is such a dark colour I normally only use a little of it to make trees, wood and branches, however, for this card I decided to totally embrace this deep rich brown colour, using it with the darkest of the Brushed Metallic Cardstock to create a plethora of pine cones for my monochromatic card.

I seem to be permanently on a default button that is set to using Basic White and I always forget to use Very Vanilla, but not this week!

This card was super quick to make because the Early Espresso layer and the Brushed Metallic Cardstock layer are each cut using these two enormous dies in the Christmas Pinecones dies.

The Early Espresso faux suede trim is threaded through a Seasonal Label Dies stamped with the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from Christmas to Remember Stamp Set and embellished with a Natural Woven Ribbon bow.

Although it doesn’t say it on the Stampin’ Up! website, this ribbon is actually Very Vanilla.

With all the foil and the dark colours this was a super hard card to photograph, however, if you look closely you can see the Very Vanilla Classic Matte Dots that finish my Early Espresso card off.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the lovely Michele Taylor – I can’t wait to see what Michele has made this week!
