Welcome to the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team Monthly Creative Showcase. The theme for this month’s showcase is Mother’s Day. Under the current conditions Mother’s Day this year is going to be completely different to any other Mother’s Day celebrations.
For most of us that means we won’t be able to see our mothers in person on Mother’s Day this year so sending a card will be super important…don’t forget to post it in time!
The Art With Heart Team are hoping to share a little Mother’s Day love and inspiration with you tonight. However the cards I’m sharing with you will not be going to my mum because she reads my blog and I want to surprise her on Mother’s Day! I also have two mother’s in law (my husband’s biological mum and his step mum) so I’m sure these cards will come in handy for both his mums.
Here’s a close up of the stunning new Ornate Borders Dies that I’ve used in all three cards tonight.
These dies are so intricately detailed I’ve decided to keep my cards very simple, using just two colours to highlight the patterns in these border dies. Basically, these dies do all the work for you…and I love that!
Here’s my first card for the night.
And here’s a closer look at the detail of the die and another new product…the gilded gems. I’ve used the gilded gems on all three cards tonight because they work perfectly with this very neutral combination on crumb cake and whisper white.
My Happy Mother’s Day sentiment is from the Dressed To Impress Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamped in Versamark ink before I heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
Card two uses another border die, along with a sentiment from the co-ordinating Ornate Thanks stamp set that is part of the bundle with the Ornate Border dies.
The “so Grateful” is one stamp and then “for all you do” is another stamp – so you can mix and match your sentiments with this set which is super cool.
The flowers I’ve used on these two cards are three little flower dies that come with the ornate borders…they are just perfect to add dimension to the card.
My third card features the last of the Ornate Border dies. This card is the simplest of the lot but I think I like it the best for the delicate simplicity of the die … it’s so classic and elegant!
Which card do you like best?
The next demonstrator to share her Mother’s Day project is the amazingly talented Kate Morgan.

Oooh, it’s so hard to pick a favourite, but I think the last one just pips the others! I love the Crumb Cake/White colour combo, it’s so pretty!
Your cards are simply gorgeous Cathy. The effect of the Ornate Border dies with Crumb Cake and White is delightful. xxx
Crumb Cake and white……always a favourite. All three of your cards are lovely Catherine.
I’m not sure if I can choose a favourite, they are all lovely cards in their own right. Great use of these beautiful border dies and I do love that you used crumb cake to make such sentimental cards 😉
Stunning Crumb Cake creations Catherine. I love your cards – Crumb Cake and White, a perfect match! x
It’s really nice to see the dies in actual use and the crumb cake and white shows them off to perfection. The 2nd card is my favourite.
Fabulous cards Cathy. You have showcased these gorgeous new dies so well. I love the simplicity of your colour scheme too.
